We currently have an opening for IT Operations Specialist - 3rd shift, in our Troy, Ohio plant. This position is 100% on-site. The hours are 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. 


  Purpose: This position is responsible for assigned activities relating to desktop and network computing in addition to day-to-day plant shop floor. This will include, but not be limited to, assistance in software and hardware acquisition, implementation and support. As a team member, their primary responsibility will be providing daily support to the end user community with a focus on the manufacturing shop floor. A major emphasis is creating and maintaining a stable desktop and shop floor computing environment for their assigned plant locations.



  • Responsibilities/Principal Duties:

 

  • Ensure 24-hour manufacturing shop floor hardware.

 

  • Perform preventative maintenance on shop floor hardware equipment.

 

  • Responsible for installation, upgrading and troubleshooting of personal computers.

 

  • Manage user expectations and follow up on a consistent and timely basis.

 

  • Assist other IT Operation Specialists where appropriate.

 

  • Maintain general industry knowledge of desktop and network products relative to Clopay’s environment and technology direction.

 

  • Be proactive in reading and gaining understanding of “new technology” and its potential within Clopay.

 

  • Follow all standards and methods for Information Technology, architectures and product use.

 

  • Responsible for complete installation, upgrade and troubleshooting of user requests.

 

  • Manage user expectations and follow up on consistent and timely basis.

 

  • Working knowledge of use and configuration of networking operating environments supported by Clopay (Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10).

 

  • Working knowledge of base software desktop configuration supported within Clopay (spreadsheet, word processing, data base applications, and operating systems).

 

  • Working knowledge in the setup and support of base hardware configurations supported within Clopay.

Education: 

High School Diploma or equivalent



 Experience:

Experience with desktop, hardware, and network support and relevant products.

Software: Microsoft Windows Products, Microsoft Office, McAfee Products, Java, ADP

Hardware: ISA, EISA, PCI, PCMCIA configurations, HP Printing Systems, Barcoding equipment, Ethernet networking, Cisco Equipment, HP Equipment, Label Printers, Avaya Equipment.
