JOB TITLE: Reliability Technician 

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager 

STATUS: Full time, exempt  

LOCATION: Beaumont, TX  

SALARY RANGE: $38 hourly

Position Summary 

 

We are seeking
an adaptable and organized individual to join our team as a Reliability Technician. This person
is responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations. This role combines predictive maintenance, precision maintenance practices, equipment diagnostics, and preventive maintenance program development in order to
identify equipment issues, perform failure analysis, develop corrective actions, and implement reliability improvements across the facility.
 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support equipment commissioning and startup activities. 
  • Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics on plant equipment. 
  • Assist in maintenance planning and scheduling activities. 
    • Execute predictive maintenance (PdM) activities including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, leak detection, and condition monitoring. 
    • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) programs within the CMMS. 
    • Perform precision maintenance practices to improve asset life and performance.   
  • Identify reliability risks and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. 
    • Monitor equipment health and identify early indicators of failure.   
    • Identify failure modes and recommend corrective and preventive actions. 
    • Troubleshoot pumps, motors, drives, mixers, conveyors, and process systems. 
    • Analyze recurring maintenance issues and develop long-term solutions. 
    • Evaluate pump performance issues including cavitation, seal failures, and vibration concerns. 
  • Follow all safety procedures and plant operating standards. 
  • Execute work in accordance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. 
  • Update P&IDs and equipment documentation as required. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and reliability records within the CMMS. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial operations 
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting: 
    • Process Flow Systems 
    • Blend Tanks 
    • Centrifugal Pumps 
    • Gaskets and Mechanical Seals 
    • Pump Cavitation Detection 
    • Pump Reliability Programs 
    • Conveyor Systems 
    • PLC-Controlled Equipment 
    • Direct Drive Motors 
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) 
  • Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs 
     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in chemical processing, water treatment, oil & gas, or similar industrial environments 
  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field 
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency 
  • Experience with MaintainX CMMS 
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification 


Licensing & Special Requirements: 

  • Subject to a criminal background check. 


Working Conditions: 

Most of the work is performed in a warehouse setting. Physical requirements of the position include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods; lifting heavy objects (50 lbs or more); climbing; crouching; operating tools; and always wearing appropriate PPE.
