Main Function

The Production Accounting Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, verification and analysis of operational and financial information relating to production activities. The role supports inventory control, KPI monitoring, yield analysis, reporting, reconciliations and ERP transactions to facilitate effective operational decision-making and maintain the integrity of production and inventory records.


Key Accountabilities

 

  • Prepare and distribute the Daily, Weekly and Monthly Production Reports to the relevant executives and managers including the yield breakdown analysis. Investigate and highlight deviations from norms.
  • Submit daily Production Reports by farm with all the source documents reports with source documents to Production Accountant for review and approval.
  • Compile, verify, analyze and report on key production KPIs including Hanging Efficiency, Saleable Yield, Order Fulfilled, Cases Shipped, Water Usage, STF, DOA and Condemnation rates. Investigate variances and escalate exceptions.
  • Conduct daily yield verification and reconciliation of birds processed, products produced, by-products recovered and inventory movements.
  • Assist with verification of raw material and packaging material usage
  • Prepare assigned Daily and Weekly reconciliations of stock e.g., Warehouse, Shipping for review and approval.
  • Assist in preparation of Weekly P&L as assigned
  • Assist with the collation of support data for budget and reporting for the Processing plants.
  • Assist Production Accountant with review of transfer prices, including verification of yields, packaging etc.
  • Participate in physical stock counts as assigned.
  • Conduct random stock counts of Stores, Parts and Staff Welfare items
  • Work with senior managers to implement policy decision
  • Perform daily inventory transactions and reconciliations within the ERP system, ensuring integrity of production, packaging, WIP and finished goods inventories.
  • Investigate and process manual adjustments in the ERP when there are system issues.


Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

 

  • Associates Degree in Accounting
  • Presently pursuing accounting qualifications e.g. ACCA, FCA, CPA, with a major in accounting or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality
