Void

Senior Graphics Engineer (Unreal)

ContractPosted Sep 4, 2026

We’re VOID Interactive, the kick-ass team behind the best-selling FPS game Ready or Not, which has sold over 15 million copies across all platforms. We’re a fully remote, 80+ person studio made up of seriously talented individuals from all over the world who love games and creating exceptional experiences for players.

As a Senior Graphics Engineer, you will work closely with artists, designers, and fellow engineers to build robust, scalable, and high-performance rendering features and workflows while driving visual quality in Unreal Engine 5. This role will require deep expertise in state of the art graphics programming, engine architecture, rendering architecture, and autonomous problem solving.

This role requires a highly capable engineer who is comfortable working within large codebases, solving complex technical challenges, and taking ownership of features from design through implementation. You should be equally comfortable collaborating across disciplines and working independently in a remote-first environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience
  • Strong C++ and math skills
  • Experience shipping at least one AAA console title
  • Recent professional experience working with Unreal Engine
  • Deep understanding of real-time rendering techniques, rendering pipelines, shaders, GPU/CPU architecture, and GPU performance
  • Familiarity with low-level graphics APIs (DirectX12, Vulkan) and tools like RenderDoc or PIX
  • Strong debugging, optimisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to design and implement robust rendering and graphics systems that are performant, scalable, maintainable, and extensible across platforms
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, performance considerations, and code quality practices
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative remote-first team
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and optimization of core engine, rendering, and graphics systems within Unreal Engine 5 across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to implement features that support gameplay, content creation, and overall product quality
  • Partnering with technical artists and content teams to identify bottlenecks and implement scalable technical solutions.
  • Ownership of graphic performance and optimization strategy, helping to establish best practices.
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing in mentoring junior engineers
  • Serving as a technical advisor regarding complex graphics features, identifying risks and tradeoffs.
  • Working closely with production and leadership teams to estimate, plan, and deliver engineering work
  • Contributing to technical decision-making and long-term project goals
  • Communicating technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Bonus points if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with UE5 technologies such as Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, or TSR
  • Experience extending or modifying Unreal Engine's rendering pipeline or engine-level graphics systems
  • Worked on multi-platform titles
  • Familiar with all stages of game-development from Concept to Post-Launch Ops
