Senior Manager, Performance Creative
About Ritual
Ritual is a personal health brand that is raising the bar for daily wellness. Known for our best-selling, clinically backed prenatal, we create science-backed supplements with transparency at their core. We believe women deserve products they can trust, backed by real evidence—not just promises.
We started by reinventing the multivitamin with the first visible supply chain of its kind. Today, we’re expanding into new categories with the same high standards that built our reputation. Hundreds of thousands trust Ritual, and we’re growing fast.
Our team of 120+ scientists, creatives, and skeptics is raising the bar for women’s health. We’re venture-backed, based in sunny Los Angeles, and always looking for people ready to challenge the industry—and do the best work of their careers.
About the role
As Senior Manager, Performance Creative, you will own the creative engine behind Ritual's paid acquisition, accountable for one outcome: creative that efficiently acquires new customers at scale. Reporting to the Director of Growth Marketing, you will set our performance creative strategy, lead a Growth Creative Strategist and an in-house team of creatives, and direct a roster of external creative agencies and creator partners. Together, you will turn performance data, customer insight and culture into a steady pipeline of winning ads across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels.
This is a player-coach role. You will set the bar for great performance creative at Ritual, coach internal and external partners to meet it, and stay close enough to the work to brief, critique and approve it yourself.
What you'll do
- Own creative performance outcomes: You will be accountable for creative's contribution to customer acquisition cost, measured through hit rate, testing velocity, the volume and diversity of new concepts in market, and efficiency metrics such as CPMR, CVR, CAC, and hook rate.
- Set the strategy and roadmap: Build quarterly and monthly performance creative roadmap tied to acquisition goals, product launches and promotional moments. Decide which angles, audiences (micro and macro), formats and channels get prioritized. Translate business objectives and customer insight into messaging angles and briefs that address real pain points, differentiators and product education needs.
- Lead and develop your team: Manage and coach a Growth Creative Strategist and an in-house team of video, motion and design creatives. Set clear priorities, give direct feedback, and grow the team's strategic range so it gets stronger.
- Direct external creative partners: Own the relationships, scopes, briefs and output quality across our creative agencies, creators, and UGC and KOL programs. Hold partners accountable to volume, timelines and performance, and decide when to scale, restructure or replace one.
- Run a disciplined testing program: Own the creative testing framework across hooks, formats, offers, audiences and funnel stages, from hypothesis to read to next iteration. Use creative analytics (such as Motion) and platform data to decide what to stop, improve or scale, and bring new formats, creator models, AI-assisted production and emerging channels into the mix with a clear test plan.
- Build the creative operating system: Forecast creative volume and refresh cadence based on spend, campaign priorities and creative fatigue. Build scalable systems for intake, briefing, naming, tagging, reporting and knowledge sharing, so what we learn from each test reaches the whole team and every partner.
- Approve, align and communicate: Serve as the final approver for performance creative before launch, in partnership with our Creative and Regulatory teams. Work closely with paid media, brand, product marketing, and analytics, and present creative strategy and results to senior leadership.
Who you are
- Accountable: You own the result, not just the process. You put a number on success and are comfortable being measured against it.
- A coach and inclusive partner: You make the people around you better through clear direction, honest feedback and respect, and you help strategists grow into leaders.
- Creative and analytical: You can tell a great hook from a good one, and you can prove it with data.
- Systems-minded: You build the processes that let a team and its partners scale output without losing quality or clarity.
- Decisive and resilient: You make calls with imperfect information, stop what isn't working, and double down on what is.
- Curious and growth-oriented: You track platform changes, cultural trends and competitor creative, and you turn them into tests, not just ideas.
- Brand-minded and principled: You know performance creative can drive efficiency and build the brand at the same time. You hold the line on brand standards, claims requirements and responsible use of additional resources.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience in performance creative, creative strategy or growth marketing, ideally at a DTC or omnichannel consumer brand
- 3+ years of people management experience, including managing creative strategists, editors, designers and copywriters
- A track record of improving acquisition efficiency through creative on Meta and TikTok; experience with YouTube, Amazon and emerging channels is a plus
- Experience directing multiple external creative agencies and creator partners at volume, including building or scaling a UGC or influencer creative program
- Strong command of creative testing methodology, performance metrics (such as CAC, CVR, CTR, hook rate and hold rate) and creative analytics tools (such as Motion)
- Experience building creative operations, including volume forecasting, intake and briefing processes, naming and tagging taxonomies, and reporting
- Experience working within regulatory or claims review processes; health, wellness, supplements or other regulated categories preferred
- Familiarity with AI-assisted creative production and the guardrails it requires
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting creative strategy and results to senior leadership
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification listed above. We're committed to building a diverse team and recognize that skills can be developed in many different ways.
