Toddler Assistant Teacher – Ages 18 Months–2.5 Years

Pinnacles Pre-Primary Community | Cabrillo Montessori School | Santa Clara, CA

Are you a caring, energetic, and dependable educator who loves working with toddlers? Join our team at Cabrillo Montessori School in Santa Clara! Our school provides a nurturing, hands-on learning environment where young children are encouraged to explore, develop independence, build confidence, and discover the joy of learning.

At Cabrillo Montessori School, we believe in creating a warm, supportive, and consistent environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. Our Montessori programs foster independence, language development, creativity, and meaningful social connections while supporting each child's individual needs and developmental milestones.

Our Pinnacles Pre-Primary Community serves children ages 18 months–2.5 years, offering an engaging environment where toddlers are encouraged to move, explore, communicate, and develop important practical life skills. Through meaningful hands-on experiences and consistent daily routines, children begin building the confidence and independence that will support them throughout their early childhood years.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Toddler Assistant Teacher to work collaboratively with our Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities, children's development, and the overall classroom experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities and Montessori learning experiences.
  • Assist with individual and small-group activities that encourage independence, language development, curiosity, and confidence.
  • Supervise and support children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest periods, transitions, and daily routines.
  • Support toileting, diapering, handwashing, dressing, and other personal care routines with patience, respect, and encouragement.
  • Help children develop emotional regulation, positive social interactions, and early communication skills.
  • Prepare classroom materials and help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming learning environment.
  • Support hands-on experiences such as gardening, cooking, art, music, sensory exploration, and practical life activities.
  • Build warm, positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
  • Help create a nurturing, joyful classroom community where every child feels secure, supported, and encouraged to grow.

We're Looking for Toddler Assistant Teachers Who:

  • Have experience or a strong desire to work with toddlers and young children.
  • Bring warmth, patience, energy, and enthusiasm to the classroom.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team.
  • Are dependable, flexible, and committed to creating a positive experience for children.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understand or are eager to learn about toddler development, daily care routines, and social-emotional growth.
  • Are interested in learning about Montessori education and philosophy.
  • Are excited to grow professionally and explore opportunities for Montessori certification and future leadership roles.

Montessori experience is welcomed but not required! We value educators who are passionate about working with young children and excited to learn.
