Purpose
Responsible for fabricating metal components and structures by measuring, cutting, welding, machining, and assembling materials according to blueprints and specifications. The role requires precision in MIG welding and CNC machining, with knowledge of TIG and Stick welding preferred. The department is structured to support both independent work and team collaboration, requiring the ability to work alone or within a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting, shaping, and machining. Cut, bend, and form metal components using appropriate tools and equipment. Perform precision MIG welding, with proficiency in TIG and Stick welding as a plus. Assemble fabricated and machined parts into complete units, ensuring quality and structural integrity. Inspect completed work for accuracy, defects, and compliance with standards. Maintain and perform minor repairs on fabrication and CNC equipment (e.g., welding torches, cutters, tool changes, etc.). Record production data needed for inventory control procedures including good parts, scrap parts, and any other data necessary.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of experience in metal fabrication or welding.
Competencies
Ability to follow established procedures.
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
Knowledge of measuring, cutting, welding, and CNC machining techniques.
Precision in MIG welding and CNC operations; knowledge of TIG and Stick welding preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency in CNC setup, operation, and basic programming (G-code knowledge).
Knowledge of AWS standards.
Knowledge of AITF 16949 quality standards.
Problem solving skills sufficient to address both routine and non-routine problems.
Communication skills to interact with all levels of employees.
Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks as required (including geometry and trigonometry for machining).
Ability to work effectively alone or with people in a team environment.
