As a Field Interviewer, you’ll conduct confidential surveys with individuals receiving state-supported services and help ensure their experiences and perspectives are accurately captured.

About the Contract Opportunity

Field Interviewers are contracted to collect confidential survey data for social research projects.

 

This opportunity offers flexibility and autonomy. You manage your own schedule and determine when and how you complete assigned interviews, while following established project protocols and deadlines.

 

Contract Term: November 3, 2026 – May 30, 2027 (or until all interviews are completed)
Contract Type: Independent Contractor
Expected Commitment: Minimum of 5 completed surveys per week

 

Using a company-provided tablet and software, you’ll contact pre-identified participants and conduct surveys by video or in person based on the participants’ preference.

 

Successful contractors will demonstrate empathy, professionalism, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

 

About the Project

Vital Research, in partnership with the State of Arizona, is seeking independent contractors for a statewide project focused on understanding the quality of life and satisfaction of individuals receiving state-supported services.

 

The information collected will help inform and improve service delivery in areas including:

  • Access to essential services
  • Communication with providers and case managers
  • Choice and quality of services
  • Medical transportation
  • Personal safety
  • Community inclusion and empowerment

Contractor Responsibilities

Contractors will be responsible for:

  • Contacting participants from a provided list to schedule and complete surveys
  • Completing an average of 1 survey per day or 5 surveys per week
  • Conducting surveys using company-provided technology and established protocols
  • Accurately recording participant responses while maintaining confidentiality
  • Communicating professionally and respectfully with participants
  • Demonstrating empathy and cultural sensitivity during participant interactions
  • Communicating with the research team regarding project-related questions or updates
  • Using the provided translation service when needed
  • Managing their own schedule and completing assignments within established project expectations

 

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Have experience conducting interviews, surveys, or research
  • Have experience supporting aging, disabled, or other underserved populations through social services, community outreach, or related work
  • Communicate clearly and build trust and rapport with others
  • Are comfortable conducting interviews by video and in person
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Are comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and digital tools
  • Work well independently and manage your time effectively
  • Have reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle for in-person interviews

 

Compensation

Paid Per Completed Survey

Contractors are compensated for each completed survey, with rates based on the interview method:

  • $90 per completed video interview
  • $100+ per completed in-person interview, depending on travel distance



Contractor Training Payments

Required training is provided before beginning participant interviews. Contractors receive:

  • $50 upon completion of pre-training modules
  • $300 upon completion of mandatory virtual training November 3-5, 2026
  • $50 upon completion of required post-training knowledge and skills assessments, for eligible contractors
