Team Coordinator – Fixed Term

With one of our Team Coordinators preparing to welcome a new addition to their whānau, we are looking for a fixed-term Team Coordinator to provide parental leave cover for approximately 12 months.



About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi



Our Team Coordinators help keep Te Waihanga running smoothly by providing proactive administrative and coordination support across the organisation. Working as part of a collaborative coordinator pool, you will support the delivery of organisational priorities, events and processes, while identifying opportunities to improve how we work.



In this role, you will:



  • Provide proactive administrative and coordination support across multiple teams and leaders, including diary management, travel bookings and meeting logistics.
  • Plan and deliver organisational and team meetings, events, workshops and stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, support project and action tracking activities.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and other people related processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and tools for greater efficiency.

You might be an experienced coordinator who thrives on variety and enjoys getting involved across the organisation, or someone newer who is keen to build their skills and learn within a supportive and collaborative team. What matters most is that you are organised, proactive, adaptable and keen to contribute.

  • Providing customer focused administrative or coordination support to managers and teams.
  • Organising meetings, workshops or events, whether virtual or in person.
  • Building and maintaining productive relationships with a range of people.
  • Managing competing priorities and keeping track of important details.



You will also have | Me whai hoki e koe



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • An understanding of document management systems, such as SharePoint, or a willingness to learn.
  • A solutions focused approach, sound judgement and the ability to adapt.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification may be helpful but is not essential.

Te Waihanga is what’s called an Autonomous Crown Entity. We think about the whole infrastructure system, including roads, water pipes and powerlines. Our job is to provide advice, uncover insights and promote change that improves the performance of New Zealand’s infrastructure system for generations to come.

We offer a competitive total remuneration package based on skills and experience.



We are looking to appoint within a total remuneration range of $63,899 to $78,650, inclusive of 3.5% employer KiwiSaver contributions.
