For one of our key clients - a forward-thinking B2B SaaS company serving the manufacturing industry - we are currently seeking a motivated Senior AI Engineer.

Our client focuses heavily on engineering excellence and AI innovation, delivering high-quality cloud-native solutions that help their users operate safely, efficiently, and intelligently.

As they expand their AI-driven capabilities, they are looking for an expert to design and build autonomous agents at the core of their AI suite. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing agentic design from concept into reliable, scalable production across their platform.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and build multi-agent systems end-to-end: planning loops, sub-agent delegation, and memory/context management that reason about live operations effectively.
• Design the agent's tools and capabilities: create clean, safe, and composable tools and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations that let agents query data, run analyses, and act reliably.
• Implement AI agents as scalable backend services following our strict development and security guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Product teams, and domain experts to bring agents and models from concept to production.
• Continuously improve, evaluate, and optimise agent behaviour in production using eval harnesses and guardrails.
• Design and implement secure APIs, real-time streaming backends (SSE, WebSockets), and backend components.
• Develop and maintain data access layers and pluggable data sources with strict customer data isolation.
• Contribute to technical specifications and architecture decisions and ensure high standards of quality, performance, and security.
  
  

Your Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in Python and scalable backend development (e.g., APIs, microservices).
• Hands-on experience building LLM agents, including tool/function calling, multi-step orchestration, structured outputs, and context management.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as pydantic-ai, LangGraph, LangChain, or CrewAI, as well as MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Excellent agent tool and interface design sense. Knowing how capabilities are specified, kept safe, and composed is what matters most to us.
• Strong experience with modern API/backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) and real-time streaming. Knowledge of SQL and working with large datasets.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and software security.
• Fluent in English and proficient in German (minimum level B2).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Kubernetes/Docker container-based architectures, Front-end fluency (React, TypeScript, Tailwind), or Time-series ML/forecasting/anomaly detection.
