About this role:
The Charles Lea Center is dedicated to supporting adults where they live, work, and play. We are seeking a dependable and customer‑focused Transportation Specialist to safely transport individuals served in our Day Services, Employment, and Supportive Living programs. This role ensures reliable transportation before, during, and after designated program hours while maintaining professionalism, safety, and excellent customer service.
Schedule
This is a temporary (as-needed) split-shift position with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Candidates must be available to work both scheduled shifts each day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- As-needed transportation position with a split schedule required based on operational needs.
- Safely transport individuals to and from program sites during scheduled hours.
- Complete a Daily Vehicle Inspection Form to ensure safe driving conditions.
- Ensure the vehicle receives required monthly mechanical inspections.
- Report mechanical or operational concerns to the Logistics Manager and Mechanic.
- Communicate customer or service concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Document incidents, parental concerns, or behavioral notes in Therapy, as required.
- Submit daily and monthly documentation to the Logistics Manager each Tuesday.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure all required supplies are stocked, including:
- First Aid Kits
- Vehicle safety manuals
- Properly mounted fire extinguisher
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum age: 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Ability to pass required background and reference checks
Physical Requirements:
This role involves regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and hands-on support. Reasonable accommodations are available.
