Where the West Coast Meets a Clean, Calm Space

Some jobs give you a checklist. This one gives you a rhythm: walk in, reset the space, make it feel like the very first time a guest has ever stepped into that room. If you like tasks with a clear beginning and a satisfying end, and you'd rather be moving than sitting still all day, this could be your kind of work.

Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is perched on the edge of Pacific Rim National Park in Ucluelet, BC — home to the Wild Pacific Trail and a close-knit, small-town coastal feel.

What you'll actually be doing

  • Resetting guest rooms between stays (beds, bathrooms, surfaces, restock)  to a consistent, high standard
  • Working through a daily room list at your own steady pace, checking things off as you go
  • Spotting the small stuff (a stain, a burnt-out bulb, a loose handle) and flagging it before it becomes a guest complaint
  • Using our non-toxic, locally made cleaning products (Mint Cleaning) and Seaflora natural care amenities — no harsh chemical smells to deal with all day
  • Working solo on your section, with a supervisor and team close by if you need backup

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Like physical, active work over sitting at a desk
  • Take genuine satisfaction in "before and after"
  • Have a sharp eye for detail; you notice the thing everyone else walks past
  • Can work independently without needing constant check-ins
  • Are comfortable on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Communicate well enough in English to read task lists and flag issues to your supervisor
  • Can work weekends and holidays; resorts don't close for those

No housekeeping background required; we'll train you on our standards. If you've ever kept your own space spotless out of habit, you already have the instinct.

What's in it for you

  • Uniform provided (washable black scrubs);  just bring your own comfortable black shoes
  • Staff discounts and associate rates at the hotel
  • Extended health, dental, and life insurance after your eligibility period
  • Low-cost on-site staff housing (subject to availability)
  • An inclusive, supportive, and respectful workplace
  • Team events throughout the year

Black Rock Resort operates within the traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet First Nation), whose ancestral lands we're grateful to live and work on.
