System Administrator Linux/Windows

For one of our clients at the European Parliament, we are currently hiring a Solution Specialist.

Main tasks:

1. Perform IT integration operations of current security systems and future IT systems,
2. Perform IT integration operations of current security systems and IT systems for other entities/services, internal and external,
3. Analyse, evaluate and propose IT integration options for the various IT integration needs on IT projects and actions,
4. Evaluate and support future move to Cloud based infrastructure and applications.

 

Other tasks:

• transfer of knowledge to the development team
• integration of an off-the-shelf solution with a system/application
• assist development team with the integration of the off-the-shelf solution with a custom development
• develop integration prototype
• test the integration of the off-the-shelf solution
• customise and configure the off-the-shelf solution

 

Technical and professional experience:

 

• A Linux system administrator with Perl and/or Shell scripting (mandatory)

• Knowledge of Windows system administration and scripting in PowerShell, this is an asset.

• experience in integration of a system / an application with off-the-shelf solution
• experience in testing the integration of the off-the-shelf solution
• good knowledge of English and/or French
• very good analytical skills and ability to see the overall picture
• ability to participate in multilingual and multicultural meetings
• ability to work independently as well as in a team
• ability to cope with changing technologies and environments
• up-to-date with the latest development trends, techniques and technologies
• Knowledge of ORACLE DB and SQL, understanding Java/J2EE applications and Cloud AWS is an asset.
