Founding Engineer / Product Engineer

BerlinFull TimePosted Sep 10, 2026

About the Role

This is a founding-team engineering role at an early-stage B2B SaaS company building an AI-native intelligence layer for strategic procurement. You will own features end-to-end, from UI and backend services through to LLM prompt design, helping enterprise customers replace fragmented, manual processes with powerful AI agents. The work is high-stakes, highly visible, and shapes the product direction directly.

What You'll Do

  • Prototype and ship full-stack product features rapidly across frontend, backend, and LLM integration layers.

  • Design and refine agent pipelines and prompt workflows that make complex AI behavior feel effortless to end users.

  • Sit close to enterprise customers, translating feedback and real-world usage into iterated, production-grade experiences.

  • Reason about system architecture and make pragmatic decisions on when to build, tune, or orchestrate AI components.

  • Use AI coding tools and agents as a natural part of your development workflow to accelerate delivery.

  • Contribute across the stack wherever the problem demands, without waiting to be pointed in a direction.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in full-stack TypeScript; Python experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to build with LLMs: prompting, tuning, and integrating them into real, shipped products, whether through professional work, side projects, or hackathons.

  • Clear evidence of exceptional engineering ability or trajectory, such as impressive shipped products, rapid career progression, notable open-source contributions, or hackathon wins.

  • Product instincts and creative drive to know what makes an AI-powered experience genuinely good for users.

  • High agency and entrepreneurial mindset; you find a way rather than waiting for permission.

  • Experience shipping product in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment.

  • Comfort working across frontend, backend services, and prompt workflows with full feature ownership.

  • Reliable, responsive communication and consistent follow-through on commitments.

  • Based in Berlin and willing to work in person or hybrid with the team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: 90,000 to 140,000 EUR annually

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available

Location

Hybrid, based in Berlin, Germany. In-person collaboration with the team is an important part of this role.
