Senior Software Engineer (Blockchain/Tokenization)
About Olea:
Olea is a digital infrastructure platform that connects global liquidity with trade and supply chain opportunities, fueling growth and unlocking potential worldwide. Olea has diverse liquidity pools with varying appetite and focuses. Olea’s vision is to connect capital to opportunity. It has a strong conviction in the role of trade to support sustainable economic development across countries, particularly emerging markets, particularly Asia where many smaller suppliers are based. Olea supports suppliers and buyers in over 70 corridors.
Role summary:
Olea is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Blockchain/Tokenization) with aspirations of having deep business impact by delivering across the entire software development lifecycle—from understanding complex business requirements to building enterprise-grade decentralized infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge traditional web architectures with web3 ecosystems, championing the next generation of asset distribution while pioneering AI-assisted engineering workflows backed by rigorous security guardrails.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery: Understand complex financial requirements and deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable technology solutions. Take proactive ownership across the full SDLC—from smart contract prototyping to front-end integration, automated testing, and production deployment.
- Tokenization Infrastructure: Architect and build the capabilities needed to tokenize real-world trade finance assets, managing asset lifecycles, fractionalization, and distribution over distributed networks.
- AI-Assisted Engineering & Guardrails: Lead the adoption of AI-generated software development processes (using LLM-based coding environments and assistants) while enforcing strict guardrails—specifically integrating AI-driven linting, smart contract static analysis, gas optimization checks, and automated vulnerability scanning.
- Problem Solving: When architectural or business challenges arise at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain, proactively offer innovative solutions and take ownership of delivering them.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and pair-program with junior engineers to uplift blockchain literacy, smart contract security awareness, and full-stack engineering best practices.
- DevOps Culture: Support and continuously improve Agile/DevOps practices, including specific web3 deployment pipelines, node infrastructure management, and CI/CD for smart contracts.
Role specific technical competencies:
- Core Software Engineering: Strong problem-solving skills, data structures, cryptographic primitives, and distributed systems algorithms.
- Full Stack & Web3 Capability: Proven experience building responsive, state-driven front ends that interact with blockchain networks alongside secure, scalable backend services.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in programming in Java or JavaScript / TypeScript (preferably both), with hands-on experience in smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity or equivalent frameworks).
- Distributed Ledger & Digital Asset Expertise: Deep domain knowledge in Blockchain and Financial Services is required, specifically with experience in:
- Tokenization: Designing and deploying token contracts for asset-backed tokens, managing mint/burn compliance, and handling multi-token architectures.
- Distributed Ledgers: Interacting with enterprise or public protocols (e.g., Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, Hyperledger, Corda), managing node connectivity, and handling asynchronous blockchain state reconciliation.
- AI-Native Workflow Familiarity: Experience leveraging AI coding assistants effectively to accelerate full-stack and smart contract delivery velocity without compromising on security, mathematical correctness, or compliance.
Qualifications (training, licences, memberships and certifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar quantitative/engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in a senior or lead engineering role, with a proven track record of deploying live blockchain-based financial applications or asset tokenization platforms.
