ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects for clients across diverse industries. This role is designed for those who excel in creating high-value solutions through innovative technology.
As a pivotal member of our talented software team, you will focus on the automated delivery of high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of mission-critical applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on Kubernetes.
Design and maintain scalable and reliable containerization solutions using Docker.
Develop and configure infrastructure as code solutions, utilizing tools like Terraform.
Ensure best practices are followed in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Profound understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Strong expertise in Docker and containerization technologies.
Experience in infrastructure automation with Terraform.
Solid grasp of CI/CD methodologies and tools.
Experience in DevOps or similar software engineering roles.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering or other related qualification (CKA)
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in DevOps and SDLC methodologies such AGILE (SCRUM/KANBAN)
- Programming language experience (e.g Java, C#, PHP)
- One or more scripting language (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, extensions)
Skilled in Cloud technologies AWS, Azure or GCP with particular experience in Infrastructure as code
- Be able to develop, maintain, debug and refactoring of software applications
- One or more version control platforms. (Git preferred)
- Advanced experience in administration and troubleshooting for two (2) or more of the following:
- DevOps/Deployment
- Orchestration Management
- Configuration Management
- Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible Chef, Puppet, or related tools)
- Advanced experience with Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL, or related)
Complete at least one relevant certification / skills training annually
Partake in Solution Architecture
Assist and mentor other inexperienced consultants with in current projects and at DVT
Contribute to DVT Insights, including contributions to the internal DVT intellectual property (IP)
Partake in technical presentations/knowledge sharing, both internally and publicly
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
High school diploma or equivalent (Matric, A or O levels).
