Senior Finance Manager

Guadalajara, JaliscoFull TimePosted Sep 11, 2026

PosiTrace by Global Fleet Management, is redefining GPS tracking for fleets. We build fleet telematics, connected cameras and asset tracking for transport, logistics, distribution and industrial fleets in Canada and Mexico.

Our culture is built on Resilience, Innovation, Stewardship, and Excellence. We move fast, we take ownership, and we show up ready to win.

Why this role matters

This is not a reporting seat. It is the seat where the close gets done, the filings go out on time, the inventory ties, the installers' costs are understood, the collections come in — and where Vancouver hears about a problem from you before it becomes one.

You will report to our Global Controller in Vancouver and work side by side with the Country Manager and the Operations Manager in Guadalajara as their finance partner. If you have run finance for a foreign-owned company in Mexico that bills every month, holds hardware, sends technicians into the field and answers to a head office abroad, you already know this job.

Who you are

  • Contador Público titulado with cédula profesional.
  • IMCP certification is a plus.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience, several of them as Controller or #2 in finance of a foreign-owned subsidiary in Mexico reporting to a head office outside the country.
  • You have owned the numbers of a business with recurring billing, hardware inventory and field technicians — telematics, security or alarm monitoring, elevator or HVAC service, managed print, equipment leasing, telecom installations, or similar. The industry matters less than the shape of the business.
  • Strong in NIF plus IFRS or US GAAP. Hands-on with ContPAQi; an ERP migration behind you is a plus.
  • You have been through a SAT review from the inside and know what a clean file looks like.
  • Fluent English and Spanish. You will run Monday's close in Spanish and Wednesday's review with Canada in English.
  • You write the procedure, then hold people to it. You would rather find the problem than be told about it.

What you'll do

  • Close and Reporting: Own the monthly close in ContPAQi within 5 days, the monthly flash to Group Finance, and multi-currency and intercompany accounting with a Canadian parent. Deliver financial statements Canada can consolidate without a phone call.
  • Tax and Statutory Compliance: Own ISR, IVA, retenciones, DIOT and CFDI with the SAT; IMSS and INFONAVIT; ISN Jalisco. You own the calendar, you write the procedure for each obligation, and you attest monthly that every one is filed and paid.
  • Controls and Cash: Keep bank reconciliations current within five days. Validate procurement against approval limits before money is committed. Run accounts payable, order-to-cash and collections, including the root cause behind every credit memo.
  • Inventory and Landed Cost: Control hardware inventory at serial level and the import chain behind it — pedimentos, the customs broker, landed cost. Track the cost of installations: planned against served against paid.
  • Audit Readiness: Support SAT audits from the inside and keep the PBC list ready before anyone asks for it.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead a team of four — Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, Order-to-Cash and Collections. You develop them, you set the standard, and you hold it.
  • Business Partnership: Work with the Country Manager and Operations Manager on installation costs, pricing and margin, and give Vancouver early warning on anything that threatens the plan.

What success looks like after twelve months

  • Close within 5 days, every month.
  • Zero missed or late filings across every obligation.
  • Bank reconciliations current; procurement approvals documented before commitment.
  • Collections at target three months running; credit memos down, with root causes logged.
  • A serial-level inventory count that ties to the system.
  • An audit-ready PBC list, and a team that runs the calendar without you in the room.

This is not the right seat for

  • Compliance-only accountants who have never owned inventory or field-service costs.
  • Controllers who need a large team to function.
  • Anyone who has not yet worked for a head office in another country. This seat is the bridge, and the bridge has to know both banks.
