At Michael Kinder & Sons, we’ve been building commercial spaces that inspire and endure for over 133 years. As a trusted name in construction, we’re looking for a proactive and experienced Traveling Project Manager to work on a large project in Huntington, Indiana, with the potential to progress into multiple projects. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing all phases of construction—from pre-construction planning to final closeout—while coordinating teams, maintaining budgets and schedules, and ensuring client satisfaction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Internal Teamwork
- Act as the main contact for clients, providing updates and resolving daily project issues.
- Work closely with internal teams to keep the project moving smoothly.
- Encourage teamwork through clear communication, accountability, and support.
Schedule Management
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, including key dates and subcontractor timelines.
- Track progress and adjust schedules to avoid delays or handle changes.
- Share schedule updates clearly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Cost Control
- Develop Schedule of Values to generate billings and monitor expenses to stay within budget and find cost-saving opportunities.
- Review financial documents (ex: change orders / invoices / etc.) to ensure accuracy and control.
- Communicate budget status and financial risks to the Senior PM and project stakeholders regularly.
Safety & Compliance
- Make sure daily safety procedures are followed, including signage and subcontractor compliance.
- Lead regular safety meetings and inspections. Follow up until issues are resolved.
- Clearly communicate safety expectations and report concerns when needed.
Site Management
- Document site activities to ensure safety, productivity, and alignment with project plans.
- Execute OAC meetings to resolve on-site issues and ensure efficient progress.
- Keep accurate records of schedule progress, resources, and daily operations.
Quality Control
- Make sure construction work meets all quality standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Organize and document inspections, testing, and punch lists, and resolve issues quickly.
- Clearly communicate quality expectations to subcontractors and ensure they are followed.
Contract Management
- Prepare and award subcontracts, making sure all terms are clearly communicated.
- Track contract performance and handle changes or updates as needed.
- Work with the Senior PM to resolve disputes and ensure all contract terms are met.

MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP
- Work collaboratively with your direct reports and other departments to support their efforts in accomplishing personal, departmental and company goals

- Develop others by delegating responsibility, training, providing performance feedback, and assisting in conflict resolution
- Support organizational change by communicating change to the team, problem solving, and maintaining structure
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education | Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree
- Commercial-Industrial Construction and Project Management | 5+yrs
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
- Ability to implement and follow Company policies, procedures and standards is essential
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore & Timberline
