5th Grade Teacher

Position Summary

The 5th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate, and standards-aligned instruction to fifth-grade students. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and structured classroom environment that encourages curiosity, academic growth, collaboration, and student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for fifth-grade students.
• Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, projects, and learning experiences that support a range of learning needs.
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, developmental, and individual needs of students.
• Assess student learning through assignments, projects, tests, and other appropriate measures.
• Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records in accordance with school procedures.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
• Collaborate with grade-level team members and support staff to promote student success.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
• Support the school’s mission, policies, and commitment to academic excellence and character development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

• Valid K–6 North Carolina teaching license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional best practices, and the developmental needs of fifth-grade students.
• Ability to create an engaging, well-managed, and student-centered classroom.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continuous professional growth.
