Product Manager

Zlayt AI is a litigation automation platform built exclusively for personal injury law. From demand letters and deposition summaries to discovery responses and case analysis, Zlayt equips law firms with intelligent tools that draft faster, think strategically, and deliver results without friction, setup, or compromise.

We're an early-stage, product-led company building the category-defining product for legal AI in a large, underserved niche. This is a rare opportunity to shape what the product becomes — working directly with the founding team, real PI lawyers, and real case data.

The Role

Zlayt AI is hiring a Product Manager to own the product from problem to shipped feature. You'll work directly with the founders and engineering to decide what we build, why, and in what order — then make sure it ships and actually works for the lawyers and legal assistants who use it every day.

This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's role. There is no product org to step into. You'll be writing the first specs, running the first structured discovery, and setting up how product decisions get made.

What You'll Do

• Own the product roadmap: talk to PI lawyers and staff, find the highest-value workflow problems, and turn them into a prioritized plan
• Write clear specs and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without guesswork
• Work hands-on with AI: define how features should behave, test outputs against real legal work product, and set the quality bar for what "good enough to ship" means
• Run discovery and feedback loops with early customers, including Zinda Law Group as the first major client
• Define and track the metrics that show whether a feature is working (adoption, time saved, output quality, retention)
• Operate with significant ambiguity in an early-stage environment, making decisions with incomplete information and adjusting quickly

Who You Are

• A builder, not an inheritor: You've shipped a 0-to-1 software product or major feature as the accountable PM — you know what it takes to build something from nothing, not just run an existing roadmap
• Technical enough to be dangerous: You've worked directly with engineers day to day, can read a technical design, and don't need a translator to discuss APIs, data models, or model behavior
• AI-native: You've shipped or worked hands-on with LLM or AI-powered features, and you use AI tools yourself to do your own work faster
• Workflow-obsessed: You've built software for a demanding professional user — legal, healthcare, finance, or similar — where the details of the workflow decide whether the product gets used
• Startup-tested: You've worked in small, fast-moving companies where you had to build process yourself, not step into one that already existed
• Self-directed: Your track record shows work you personally drove — not just team results you were adjacent to
• Experienced but still hands-on: Roughly 4–10 years of total professional experience, with at least 3 in product management
• Stable but not stagnant: A track record of meaningful tenure at each stop, with job changes that make sense (promotions, acquisitions, layoffs, or clear career logic — not a pattern of short stints)
