Position Overview
You'll own the Cato backbone and platform strategy and roadmap, with the goal of a stable, resilient network that meets 99.999% availability. You'll be the focal point between Operations and Engineering. You'll define the capabilities that improve the network and drive them from priority to delivery. The role is mostly internal, with occasional work with customers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Own the Cato backbone and platform strategy and roadmap.
- Define requirements for availability, redundancy, resiliency, and failure handling together with Operations and Engineering.
- Set priorities, build the plan with both teams, and follow it through delivery.
- Drive platform decisions on cloud deployments, fabric/interconnect providers, and traffic engineering.
- Work with customers and partners on backbone-related needs as required.
- Strong technical background in network design and architecture, with experience operating large-scale, global platforms.
- Deep understanding of network availability and redundancy: failure domains, failover, capacity planning, and designing for five-nines.
- 5+ years in product management or network operations in cloud or networking environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platform deployments, fabric providers, Service Provider networks, and traffic engineering.
- Strong cross-functional skills: you can align Ops and Engineering and drive execution without direct authority.
- Background in network operations (NetOps/NOC).
