Olea is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with aspirations of having deep business impact by delivering across the entire software development lifecycle—from understanding complex business requirements to delivering highly available results in a production environment. In this role, you will experience both front-end and back-end development, champion agile methodologies, and pioneer the adoption of AI-native engineering workflows with robust structural guardrails.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Delivery: Understand complex financial business requirements and deliver high-quality, scalable technology solutions to meet those needs. Take proactive ownership across the full SDLC—from requirements gathering to development, automated testing, and release.
  • Domain Innovation: Design, build, and optimize core financial features, focusing on trade finance workflows, payment rails, real-time ledger generation, and automated reconciliation systems.
  • AI-Assisted Engineering & Guardrails: Lead the adoption of AI-generated software development processes (using tools like LLM-based coding assistants) while implementing and enforcing appropriate guardrails—including rigorous code reviews, automated unit/integration testing, security linting, and compliance checks to ensure code quality and safety.
  • Problem Solving: When problems happen in both business and technology, proactively offer innovative solutions and take absolute responsibility for delivering them.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and pair-program with junior engineers to uplift technical capabilities and ensure engineering best practices across the team.
  • DevOps Culture: Support and continuously improve Agile/DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure efficiency within the organization.

Role specific technical competencies

  • Strong problem-solving skills, data structures and algorithms.
  • Full stack developer capability.
  • Ability to program in Java or JavaScript (or alternatives such as TypeScript), preferably both.
  • Core Software Engineering: Strong problem-solving skills, data structures, software design patterns, and algorithms.
  • Full Stack Capability: Proven experience building clean, responsive user interfaces as well as secure, high-throughput, and scalable backend services.
  • Tech Stack: Proficiency in programming in Java or JavaScript / TypeScript (preferably both).
  • Financial Services Expertise: Deep domain knowledge in Financial Services is required, specifically with hands-on experience in:
  • Trade Finance & Payments: Processing cross-border/domestic payments, clearing systems, and supply chain finance workflows.
  • Ledger & Reconciliation: Designing transaction ledger systems (immutable or double-entry accounting models) and automated reconciliation pipelines.
  • AI-Native Workflow Familiarity: Experience leveraging AI coding environments or enterprise AI assistants effectively to accelerate delivery velocity without compromising on code security, architectural integrity, or compliance.

Qualifications (training, licences, memberships and certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar quantitative/engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in a senior or lead engineering role, ideally within Fintech, Banking, or transactional financial platforms.
