Call for Expressions of Interest

Panel for the Development of a Code of Ethical Conduct for the Real Estate Sector

Period of Engagement: 120 Days

 

The Jamaican real estate sector plays a critical role in national development, investment, housing delivery, and wealth creation. Maintaining public trust, investor confidence, and professional standards requires a clearly articulated and enforceable Code of Ethical Conduct applicable to real estate dealers, developers, and salesmen.


In keeping with the regulatory framework established under the Real Estate Board and the Real Estate (Dealers and Developers) Act, a Five-Member Panel is being established to develop a comprehensive, modern, and enforceable Code of Ethical Conduct for the sector.

 

The Real Estate Board Invites Expressions of Interest for the following positions:

  1. Chairperson
    A senior professional with at least ten (10) years of experience in law, governance, regulation, or a related field.
  2. Industry Representative
    A licensed real estate dealer with at least ten (10) years of experience and membership in the National Association of Realtors and/or the Realtors Association of Jamaica.
  3. Industry Representative
    A licensed real estate dealer with at least ten (10) years of experience who is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Association of Land Economy and Valuation Surveying.
  4. Industry Representative

          A registered developer with at least ten (10) years of experience in land       

          development and membership with the Jamaica Developers Association.


     5. Independent/Public Interest Representative

          An individual with at least ten (10) years of experience expertise in ethics,         

          compliance, consumer protection, and/or Anti-Money Laundering and Counter 

          Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT).

Submission Deadline

Qualified professionals with the requisite experience and commitment to ethical excellence are encouraged to apply no later than July 3, 2026. Please note that the Application Deadline has been extended to July 12, 2026.
