Clinical Systems Engineering Co-op
Our mission is to Profoundly change the standard of care by creating a tomorrow where clinicians can confidently ablate tissue with precision; a tomorrow where patients have access to safe and effective treatment options, so they can quickly return to their daily lives. Changing the standard of care is part of our fabric. We are a group of energetic, problem-solvers focused on innovation, and looking to change the world. We are changing the paradigm for treating diseases such as prostate cancer by using real-time MR Imaging, thermal ultrasound and close-loop temperature feedback control, to gently ablate the diseased tissue with minimal side effects.
If you share our values and want to work in a collaborative results focused culture and want to make a Profound impact in healthcare and your career, here is your chance.
General Accountability
We are seeking a motivated, adaptable Clinical Systems Engineering Co-op to support hardware reliability investigations on our novel real-time MRI-guided robotic ultrasound therapy system. The co-op will analyze logs, sensor data, and test results to identify root causes, develop analysis tools, and gain hands-on experience collecting data at the MRI. Working closely with experienced engineers, the role suits a fast learner who takes ownership and delivers quality work on tight timelines.
Please note, this role is hybrid (4 days in office).
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Analyze device data, including system logs, feedback reports, sensor data, and service records, to identify failure trends and support root cause investigations.
- Develop Python and/or MATLAB scripts to process, visualize, and summarize data, and to automate recurring analysis tasks.
- Support data collection at the MRI, including test preparation, system setup, and data acquisition. MR safety training will be provided.
- Assist with lab testing to reproduce field failures, including setup, data collection, and analysis.
- Participate in root cause analysis sessions and contribute data-driven evidence.
- Support the examination of returned units and record observations.
- Document analysis methods and findings in line with quality-system requirements.
- Present findings to R&D, Quality, and Clinical teams.
