About the Role
At Corus Health, we are known for warm, steady, and mission-anchored care. As our Director of Hospice, you’ll lead the team that walks with patients and families through the end-of-life journey, making sure every person receives care that is compassionate, high quality, and compliant. You’ll partner closely with the Executive Director, step in as their designee when needed, and set the standard for what hospice looks like at Corus. This role is for a seasoned hospice leader who leads with both heart and discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, including your Clinical Manager, chaplain, social work, bereavement, volunteer, scheduling, and nurse practitioner colleagues
- Oversee hiring, orientation, evaluation, and development of hospice staff, including staffing patterns and on-call rotations
- Ensure individualized care plans are developed and updated in line with physician orders and Medicare Conditions of Participation
- Direct interdisciplinary group meetings, family care conferences, and quality assurance and performance improvement activities
- Review clinical records and monitor practices to protect outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, and compliance
- Build strong relationships with physicians, referral partners, community organizations, and the Professional Advisory Committee
- Represent hospice in community education, helping neighbors understand the hospice benefit
- Coordinate with other providers and service lines so transitions of care, including to and from palliative care, feel seamless for families
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- A Registered Nurse license in your state of practice, or another clinical license that meets state hospice requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field (a master’s degree is a plus)
- 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hospice or end-of-life care, including at least 1 year in a clinical management role
- A leader who develops people, builds trust, and brings calm to competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication, and comfort with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally between patient homes, care facilities, and our offices
