Freelance Designers

At TBCo, we create easy-to-style statement pieces designed to make an impact. As a B Corp-certified brand, we believe in responsible retail, high-quality natural materials and products that empower self-expression across both outfit and home.

As TBCo continues to grow and expand internationally, we’re looking to build a network of talented freelance designers to support our Product team across Apparel, Sleep, Blankets and Accessories.

The Opportunity

Working closely with our in-house Designers, Buyers and wider Product team, you’ll support the development of distinctive, commercially relevant collections that reflect TBCo’s design identity and resonate with our customers.

We’re interested in hearing from designers with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Womenswear and apparel
• Sleepwear and loungewear
• Textile design, blankets and woven products
• Knitted accessories
• Fashion accessories
• Print, pattern and colour development

Projects may range from initial trend and concept development through to final designs, colourways and supplier-ready technical artwork. The scope, timings and deliverables will be agreed for each project.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the project, you may be asked to:

• Research relevant seasonal trends, customer insights and competitor activity.
• Create concept boards, colour palettes and seasonal design directions.
• Develop original product, print, pattern or textile designs in line with the agreed brief.
• Translate concepts into clear, commercially viable designs.
• Create accurate CADs, technical drawings, repeat patterns and colourways.
• Prepare supplier-ready design packs and artwork.
• Work within agreed pricing, material and production parameters.
• Consider responsible materials, durability and production methods throughout the design process.
• Respond to feedback and complete agreed design revisions.
• Work collaboratively with the TBCo Product team and meet agreed deadlines.
• Ensure all submitted work is original and does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
  

The Ideal Freelancer Will Have

• Relevant design experience within fashion, textiles, sleepwear, blankets or accessories.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating original, commercial design work.
• A clear understanding of colour, print, pattern, fabrication and product construction relevant to their specialist category.
• Experience designing for a lifestyle, fashion or homeware brand.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• The ability to interpret a creative brief while bringing fresh ideas and a distinctive point of view.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the TBCo customer.
• Experience creating accurate technical artwork and supplier-ready design files.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to respond constructively to feedback.
• A reliable, proactive approach to managing projects and meeting deadlines.
• An understanding of responsible design and material choices.
• Previous experience working independently or on a freelance basis would be advantageous.
