Position Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Construction Project Coordinator for our Campbell River office. The successful candidate will report directly to the Mining Group Lead in the Campbell River office and will support our project management and construction services teams in the planning, coordination, and delivery of a construction related services for a remote mine site in Northwest BC, and other projects throughout British Columbia.

 

This partial camp-based position plays a critical role in the construction of a new access road within the remote location. Camp shifts are typically 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off during the construction season.

 

The position will involve coordination of projects from proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and project closeout. The successful applicant will work closely with Project Managers, technical staff, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.

 

Experience in construction coordination, contract administration, document control, scheduling, procurement, and client communication would be considered an asset

 

Major Job Functions:

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports.
  • Assist with procurement, contractor coordination, and material tracking.
  • Monitor project schedules and assist with tracking project budgets and deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and project team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting records and action item tracking.
  • Assist with contract administration and construction phase services.
  • Maintain project filing systems and document control procedures.
  • Support project closeout activities including collection of record documentation and project deliverables.
  • Occasional site visits and field coordination activities may be required


Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with project management and document control software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar programs would be an asset.
  • Flexibility, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within British Columbia.


Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, Building Technology, Business Administration, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Two to five years of related experience in construction project coordination, contract administration, consulting engineering, or a similar environment.
  • Eligible for registration with ASTTBC or EGBC would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.


Salary:

$70,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience, full-time permanent position.

The lower portion of the range reflects candidates with developing project coordination experience and responsibilities. The upper portion of the range applies to candidates demonstrating significant construction coordination experience, contract administration expertise, and increased responsibility in project delivery.
