Contract Manufacturer Quality Oversight: Routinely verify and validate critical manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes at contract manufacturer facilities. Conduct onsite visits as needed to investigate issues, assess process compliance, and ensure manufacturing activities meet engineering requirements and applicable quality standards.
Test Plan Development and Execution: Develop, execute, review, and redline detailed test plans and procedures for PCB and electronic assemblies. Identify gaps, edge cases, and potential failure modes in test coverage.
Electronics Debugging and Failure Analysis: Troubleshoot PCB and electronic assembly failures at the component, board, and system levels using schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic methods to identify root causes.
Automated and Manual Testing: Develop and execute manual and automated test procedures for electronic hardware. Write or modify test scripts to support functional testing, validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Test Equipment and Software: Utilize laboratory equipment and software tools, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, electronic loads, and LabVIEW or Python-based test and automation tools.
PCB and PCBA Inspection: Inspect incoming PCB materials, bare boards, and circuit card assemblies for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Engineering Documentation Review: Review electrical schematics, Gerber files, PCB layouts, assembly drawings, and related technical documentation to verify manufacturing and inspection requirements.
Manufacturing Inspection and Test Methods: Oversee and evaluate inspection and test methods, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), automated X-ray inspection (AXI), and flying probe testing, to identify defects and verify product quality.
Root Cause and Corrective Action: Develop and manage product root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and 8D reports. Determine root causes of manufacturing defects, implement corrective and preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.
Material Review Board (MRB): Chair and coordinate product MRBs, working with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, and supply chain to evaluate nonconforming materials and determine appropriate dispositions.
Nonconformance Management: Manage and facilitate product nonconformance reports (NCs), including documentation, investigation, disposition, corrective action, and closure.
Diagnostic Work Instructions: Develop, maintain, and own the execution of diagnostic work instructions in Manufacturo, ensuring procedures are clear, controlled, and consistently followed.
Repair and Rework Instructions: Develop and manage repair and rework instructions for contract manufacturers, coordinating with engineering and quality teams to ensure approved methods are followed and product requirements are maintained.
EIDP Artifact Management: Collect, review, and manage EIDP artifacts associated with diagnostic activities, repairs, and rework, ensuring traceability and completeness of product records.
Material Management Support: Support Program Management and Supply Chain with material planning, tracking, and coordination associated with diagnostic, repair, and rework activities.
Process Capability and Quality Metrics: Monitor manufacturing process capability and product quality metrics using Statistical Process Control (SPC). Identify trends, investigate process variation, and drive improvements in manufacturing consistency and product reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, test, program management, and supply chain teams to resolve hardware quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and improve product reliability.
Customer and Supplier Quality: Support customer-facing quality activities and communicate technical quality issues, corrective actions, inspection results, and test findings to customers and external manufacturing partners as required.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, nonconformances, investigations, repairs, and corrective actions. Identify recurring quality issues and implement improvements to manufacturing, inspection, testing, and quality control processes.
Qualifications
