Network Inspector
Mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a Network Inspector to join our team and help keep the network safe, compliant and running well. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll inspect roads and associated assets, identify faults, assess work requirements and make sure quality information is loaded into the AWM system.
This is a role for someone who backs good work with sharp judgement, strong attention to detail and a practical mindset. You’ll be trusted to spot issues early, support evidence-based decision making and help optimise network activities for the long term. Day or night, when it counts, you’ll switch on and help us deliver the standard our clients and communities rely on.
Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities
- Inspect the network in line with programmed frequencies, including day and night inspections.
- Identify, assess and log faults in AWM, including maintenance needs, safety hazards and routine or ordered work.
- Assign fault severity, size work requirements and provide clear evidence to support decision making.
- Support safe, quality delivery by following Fulton Hogan systems, reporting incidents and looking for better, safer ways of working.
- Build strong working relationships with operational teams, clients and key stakeholders while helping deliver programme KPIs.

- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in road maintenance, network inspections or similar infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of road assets, maintenance contract requirements, AWM, Work Manager and Mobile AWM.
- A BE, NZCE, diploma in engineering or relevant industry experience, along with any relevant safety certification.
- A current Class 1 driver licence and the ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role.
- Sound judgement, a safety-first mindset, strong communication skills and a practical, team-focused approach.
