🔍The Role:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable, scalable data

pipelines and data warehouse solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, operational

reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The role will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, technology teams, and other data

consumers to transform data from trading, CRM, payment, financial, and other operational systems into

accurate, accessible, and well-governed datasets. The Data Engineer will also play a key role in maintaining

data quality, performance, availability, and integrity across the company’s data platform.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and end users to understand data and reporting
• requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Design and maintain data models, data marts, and data warehouse structures to support analytics, BI,
• operational reporting, and management reporting.
• Integrate data from systems such as trading platforms, CRM systems, payment providers, finance systems, marketing platforms, and third-party data sources.
• Develop efficient and maintainable SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
• Build and maintain datasets used for Power BI dashboards, reports, KPIs, and other analytics solutions.
• Monitor data pipelines and production processes, proactively identifying and resolving failures, performance issues, and data inconsistencies.
• Perform testing, reconciliation, and troubleshooting across development, staging, and production
• environments.
• Implement robust data validation, monitoring, and data-quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
• Support ad-hoc data extraction, analysis, and reporting requests from business teams.
• Optimise database queries, ETL workloads, and data models for performance and scalability.
• Stay current with emerging data-engineering technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices and recommend improvements where appropriate.

🎯Requirements:

• Working knowledge of data modelling, including dimensional modelling, fact and dimension tables, and star-schema concepts. 
• Experience developing stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
• Experience with Microsoft data technologies such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and/or Power BI.
• At least 1 year of experience with Power BI or a comparable BI/reporting platform, including preparing datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Good understanding of data-quality, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring practices.
• Experience troubleshooting data-related issues across development and production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience within forex, CFD, brokerage, fintech, banking, payments, or financial services is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with trading-related data such as accounts, orders, positions, trades, prices, instruments, P&L, deposits, withdrawals, and client activity is considered an advantage.
• Experience integrating with trading platforms or financial systems such as MetaTrader 4/5, CRM platforms, payment providers, or liquidity and market-data sources is considered an advantage.
• Experience with Python for data processing, automation, or analysis is considered an advantage.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms is considered an advantage.
