Machinist Job Summary:

Horizon Firearms is seeking a Machinist/Operations Support to operate and perform setup on CNC machines for the production of components based on customer job orders. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of quality and accuracy that define our products.

Machinist/Operations Support Responsibilities:

- Learn setup and operation for each production equipment type

- Input commands to retrieve stored part data and visual templates

- Calculate and input machining parameters including speed, feed rate, and tool specifications

- Store and manage layout files in computer memory systems

- Transfer data and layouts to hardcopy or storage devices

- Perform initial quality inspections of all machined parts

- Operate digitizing equipment for pattern generation as needed

- Follow all safety policies including use of required PPE

- All other duties as assigned by management

Machinist/Operations Support Skills and Competencies:

- Understanding and application of workmanship standards

- Ability to read blueprints and apply basic math

- Working knowledge of DOS and inspection skills

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Machinist/Operations Support Qualifications:

- Experience with CNC machine operation and setup

- 2+ years in manufacturing preferred

- Willingness to train on advanced equipment

Work Environment:

Work takes place indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to noise, climate variation, and airborne particles. Use of PPE is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

- Stand up to 10 hours daily

- Frequent walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling

- Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks

- Occasional use of foot controls

- Lift 40 lbs frequently and 75 lbs with assistance occasionally

- Push/pull pallet jacks up to 4000 lbs with help
