Digital Academy helps GovTech officers build the capabilities they need to do their best work.

We want to reimagine learning — moving beyond traditional courses to create engaging, personalised experiences that help officers understand their capability gaps, develop new skills and apply them at work.

Today, learning journeys span multiple enterprise systems and manual processes. We want to create a seamless employee growth experience while making back-office operations simpler and more productive.

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager who can rethink these experiences and turn ideas into products that deliver measurable value.

[About the role]

You will own the design direction across Digital Academy's products and services, from the website to the end-to-end capability development journey.

This is an opportunity to shape how officers experience learning and development, make complex systems feel simple, and build the design function that will support Digital Academy's transformation.

You will report to the Head of Digital Academy and work closely with Product, Engineering, Partnerships and Operations.

[What you will be working on]

  • Set design direction: Own the design strategy, standards and quality across Digital Academy's products and services.

  • Simplify complex journeys: Connect capability requirements, learning, application and assessment into intuitive, accessible experiences.

  • Drive user-centred design: Lead discovery, service design, prototyping, experimentation and validation to solve real user problems.

  • Design for engagement: Create experiences that motivate officers to develop and apply capabilities, rather than treating learning as a compliance exercise.

  • Build design excellence: Establish design systems, reusable practices and quality standards; hire, coach and develop designers.

  • Use AI and emerging tools: Apply AI-assisted design, advanced prototyping and automation to improve how the team works and explore new experiences.

  • Influence outcomes: Work with Product and Engineering to make trade-offs, challenge assumptions and measure whether designs improve user behaviour and outcomes.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial design, human-computer interaction (HCI), graphic design, design research or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8 years of experience in UX/UI design, internships, or freelance work.
  • Good with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, or similar
  • Strategic thinker and a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives in your work
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and leadership
  • Good understanding of user research methods and the ability to analyse data to inform design decisions.
  • Familiarity with usability testing and gathering feedback to improve design quality
  • Good communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively
  • Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity
  • Strong empathy for users and a desire to advocate for their needs
  • Desire to learn, adapt and grow in the UX design field

You will help define what Digital Academy's future experience looks like, build the design team and standards behind it, and shape how GovTech officers develop their capabilities.

We are looking for someone who can set the design vision, build the team and turn complex experiences into products people genuinely want to use.

What We Offer:

  • Collaborative and creative work environment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Work environment that is fully supportive of self-improvement and personal/professional development

GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe it is key to innovation.

Our employee benefits are based on a total rewards approach, offering a holistic and market-competitive suite of perks.

We champion flexible work arrangements (subject to your job role) and trust you to manage your time to deliver your best.
