Senior Finance Operations Analyst – Payments & Reconciliation

The Role
The Senior Finance Operations Analyst will play a key role in managing and improving Travelfusion’s payment-related financial operations.
The role covers high-volume, multi-currency transaction reconciliations, airline and supplier accounts, funding and settlement activities, cash management and operational financial controls.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex reconciliation and transaction issues while also looking beyond daily operations to improve processes, controls and automation.
As a senior member of the team, you will also support and coach junior colleagues and have the opportunity to develop towards a team leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
Payments & Reconciliation
- Own daily reconciliation of transactions between internal systems, banks, airlines, suppliers and other payment partners
- Investigate reconciliation breaks and drive issues through to resolution
- Review merchant and payment transactions and ensure accurate financial records
- Maintain strong controls around payment processing and settlement activities
- Act as an escalation point for complex operational and reconciliation issues
Airline & Supplier Finance Operations
- Manage airline and supplier accounts, ensuring sufficient funding to support uninterrupted business operations
- Monitor balances, funding requirements and financial exposure
- Coordinate supplier invoices and settlements
- Manage supplier commissions and ensure amounts are accurately recorded and collected
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment and account discrepancies
Cash, FX & Operational Risk
- Monitor multi-currency cash balances and short-term funding requirements
- Support FX and liquidity management for day-to-day operations
- Identify potential financial or operational risks and escalate issues proactively
- Ensure activities are performed in accordance with internal controls and relevant requirements
Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyse transaction and operational data to identify trends, exceptions and root causes
- Improve and document Finance Operations processes and controls
- Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual work
- Support system and Finance transformation initiatives
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights to Finance leadership
Team & Collaboration
- Support and coach junior members of the Finance Operations team
- Help coordinate priorities and ensure critical operational activities are completed on time
- Work closely with Finance, Technology, Commercial and Operations teams
- Contribute to building a high-performing, scalable Finance Operations function
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance Operations, payments, reconciliations or a similar environment
- Strong experience with high-volume transaction and account reconciliations
- Experience working with multi-currency payments, settlements and cash balances
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel or equivalent data-analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify financial discrepancies
- Comfortable working with large datasets and multiple systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving and operationally critical environment
