This position is responsible for providing accounting support to a large client base, including but not limited to the production of financial reports, categorizing expenses, general ledger, payroll, sales and business taxes, and account reconciliations. *Please note this an in-person job*
Essential Duties:
- Perform general to complex accounting work, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable and payable, year-end adjustments/closing work processes
- Investigate and correct general ledger balance discrepancies, including comprehensive clean-up work
- Assist in preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Assist with conversions of client books to Quickbooks
- Process payroll and payroll tax returns
- Process monthly sales tax returns
- Process business tax returns, annual reports, and personal property tax reports
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Associates degree preferred, but not required
- 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a CPA firm environment or client accounting services environment
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
- Self-motivated and able to handle a fast-paced work environment independently or with a team
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized and able to multi-task
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work extended hours during peak season including working weekends as needed
