Why join Marshall in this role?

Established in 1909, Marshall is a private equity-backed, independent British mid-tier aerospace and defence company with a proud 100-year heritage supporting governments and prime contractors worldwide. We are a global leader in military MRO, keeping fleets mission-ready — including the C-130 Hercules, which we've supported since 1966 with multiple world-first accreditations. We also design and manufacture precision parts and subsystems for flagship defence programmes under long-term contracts with major OEMs.

Purpose of the position

The Technical Advisor will be based in Türkiye, supporting our customer through close collaboration with their maintenance team. The role will provide timely responses to technical queries and act as the primary point of contact between the customer and the Cambridge-based MRO maintenance, technical support, and logistics teams. The post holder will facilitate the effective transfer of knowledge, ensure clear communication, and support the delivery of maintenance activities and technical solutions to the customer.

Accountability

·         Respond to technical support requests from the customer, including flight crew and ground staff, either in person, by telephone, or electronically.

·         Train and advise the customer's in-country maintenance team to transition successfully to the Lockheed Martin scheduled maintenance system.

·         Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fault diagnosis, rectification activities, and component replacement (major and minor) at the customer's operating location.

·         Establish and facilitate the transfer of key knowledge, skills, and best practices to the customer's maintenance and support teams.

Responsibilities

·         Ensure customer maintenance teams are working in accordance with MRO processes and procedures.

·         When required, support maintenance activities on aircraft and components in accordance with approved maintenance documentation and within authorised trade specialisms.

·         Ensure customer maintenance teams comply with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and applicable airworthiness regulations.

·         Work in accordance with company procedures to ensure compliance with requirements associated with the role, including tool control, document control, system updates, and certification activities.

·         Accurately record and account for working time and activities.

Key Tasks

·         Work alongside the UK MRO maintenance team to support aircraft maintenance activities.

·         Coordinate and manage the technical development and on-the-job training of customer maintenance personnel in support of the agreed knowledge transfer plan.

·         Attend daily Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational meetings.

·         Manage customer maintenance team competency pathways and development plans.

·         Provide regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.

·         Attend additional meetings as required by the MROSS management team.

·         Provide SME guidance and technical advice to the customer regarding maintenance and engineering matters.

·         Work closely with the UK MRO Training Team to identify and address technical knowledge gaps.

Capability Requirements

·         Able to lead and influence small teams within a maintenance environment.

·         Strong understanding of MRO software solutions, including IFS and Windchill (PLM).

·         Ability to conduct skills-gap analyses and training needs assessments.

·         High level of understanding of aircraft technical publications and data sets.
