Audio Engineer - Hillside
Position Summary: The Audio Engineer plays a key role in creating an excellent worship experience by delivering high-quality audio for weekend services, special events, and other ministry gatherings. This position is primarily responsible for Front of House and Broadcast audio, ensuring systems are prepared, services run smoothly, and every environment supports distraction-free worship. In addition to audio, this role provides support for other Front of House production needs, including lighting and media, while helping maintain production systems, invest in volunteers, and continually improve the overall production experience.
Required Experience & Knowledge

- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture
- Be highly motivated, energetic, and possess strong work ethic/initiative skills
- Experience mixing live audio
- Understanding signal flow
- Experience troubleshooting audio systems
- Ability to learn new equipment quickly
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during rehearsals, weekend services, and special events (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to regularly bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and work around stage and production equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull rolling equipment cases, carts, and road cases weighing up to 80 pounds
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
- Exhibit skill to think quickly and react/troubleshoot calmly and effectively in high-stress situations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed
- Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
- Mix Front of House and Broadcast audio for weekend and Wednesday services, and special events
- Prepare stages and audio systems by completing line checks, patching, sound checks, and virtual sound checks
- Help set up and strike stages for services and special events
- Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and calmly to ensure smooth, distraction-free services
- Promote volunteer team engagement as Trainer and Point of Contact
- Edit and export Worship Team recordings; assist in editing teaching audio as necessary
- Assist with special event staging, rental, power, and other set-up needs
- Support lighting, lyrics, and media operations as needed during services and events
- Help maintain and organize professional audio and production equipment to keep our systems reliable and ready for ministry
- Perform routine maintenance and identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and the overall production experience
- Serve wherever needed to support Production across all Athey Creek campuses, helping provide consistent excellence in every environment
