Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Lifecycle Marketing Manager
PlanHub is the leading pre-construction SaaS platform and marketplace helping general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers connect and grow their businesses. Built with tradespeople in mind, PlanHub is designed around the user workflow to help boost productivity, maintain deadlines, increase revenue, and create relationships. Easily post projects or submit bids with anytime-anywhere collaboration for every commercial construction trade.
We are hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to help users move from registration to their first valuable outcome, and from there to regular, long-term use.
This is a strategy and execution role. You will define user journeys, build programs directly in HubSpot, own lifecycle messaging and cadence, and measure results. You will also help shape the lifecycle requirements for our planned email platform and user-profile migration.
We are looking for someone who can set direction, build and optimize programs independently, and use data to prioritize opportunities across lifecycle stages and channels.
What you'll do to make an impact:
- Define user lifecycle journeys, activation milestones, and progression criteria in partnership with Marketing Operations and Product, with distinct programs for general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Design, build, and optimize HubSpot workflows for onboarding, activation, plan upgrades from Basic to Premier, retention, and win-back.
- Own lifecycle messaging, copy, cadence, and campaign execution, partnering with Product Marketing and Design on positioning and creative.
- Segment and personalize communications by trade, geography, behavior, and plan, working with Product on the signals that make project recommendations relevant.
- Plan and manage communications across email, in-app messaging, and additional channels where they improve results.
- Run experiments with clear hypotheses, success measures, and appropriate comparison groups to understand the effect on activation, repeat usage, retention, and upgrades.
- Build and maintain lifecycle reporting in partnership with Marketing Operations, including cohort and funnel analysis, and communicate findings to Marketing, Product, and leadership.
- Lead lifecycle program requirements for the planned email platform and user-profile migration, partnering with Marketing Operations, Product, and Engineering on event definitions, consent and suppression needs, vendor evaluation, and launch validation.
- Monitor email engagement, deliverability, and suppression practices, working with Marketing Operations, Product, and Engineering to maintain healthy sending practices.
What you will accomplish in your first 90 days:
- Audit existing lifecycle programs, workflows, and data availability, and recommend a prioritized lifecycle roadmap.
- Launch or improve activation programs for general contractor and subcontractor users.
- Establish a lifecycle dashboard with agreed activation definitions and baseline cohort reporting, including 30-, 60-, and 90-day retention where historical data is available.
- Deliver a lifecycle requirements document for the planned migration, including program priorities, required events and attributes, consent and suppression needs, and launch acceptance criteria.
What will make you stand out:
- Five or more years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, or marketing automation, ideally in a marketplace, product-led, or SaaS business with a high-volume user base.
- Deep, hands-on HubSpot experience, including workflows, lists, properties, segmentation, and the underlying data model.
- Strong analytical skills, including cohort and funnel analysis, experiment design, and experience using SQL or a business intelligence tool.
- Experience running high-volume email programs, including campaigns and automated sends, with examples of tests you ran and results you improved.
- Experience building behavioral and event-triggered programs.
- A record of setting lifecycle strategy and personally building, launching, and optimizing the programs.
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to turn product value into clear, relevant customer communications.
- Working knowledge of email deliverability, consent management, suppression practices, and compliance requirements.
- Clear communication and the ability to work effectively with Marketing Operations, Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Experience with a customer data platform (CDP).
- Experience with Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, or a similar orchestration platform.
- Experience supporting an email platform migration or implementing new behavioral data and messaging capabilities.
- Background in B2B marketplaces, construction, or SMB customers.
- Knowledge of email deliverability and compliance requirements.
How we will measure success:
Success will be measured by improvements in activation, repeat usage, 90-day retention, and upgrades and reactivation attributable to lifecycle programs, alongside healthy unsubscribe, complaint, bounce, and deliverability metrics.
