Split Shift Availability Required

  • Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 9:30 AM & 12:30 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Flexibility to work split shift and weekend hours is essential.


About the Role:

The Support Team Leader supports the daily operation of residential and program services by providing leadership, mentoring staff, monitoring compliance, assisting with training initiatives, and ensuring high-quality services for individuals supported. The position also provides on-call support, assists with emergency response situations, and advocates for the needs, preferences, and goals of people supported.


Administrative & Operational Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the assigned home or program.
  • Complete On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new employees and provide follow-up training as needed.
  • Mentor and support new and existing staff members.
  • Represent the team during pre-admission meetings and facilitate communication of support needs.
  • Monitor training data and service delivery outcomes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct monthly quality assurance audits.
  • Assist in emergency situations, including transportation to medical facilities when necessary.
  • Ensure homes and programs have adequate supplies, equipment, and resources.
  • Assist with critical incident investigations, abuse reports, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure programs meet organizational expectations.
  • Meet regularly with the Assistant Director to discuss program performance, challenges, and solutions.

Training & Staff Development

  • Support DSP staff with active treatment strategies, skill development, and person-centered practices.
  • Assist with assessments, monthly reporting packets, and program documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records in electronic health record systems (Therap).
  • Document and monitor site maintenance needs through reporting systems such as UpKeep.
  • Conduct training related to new procedures, licensing requirements, program initiatives, and operational needs.
  • Ensure staff training completion and address documentation discrepancies.

Program Services & Direct Support

  • Promote and ensure adherence to Behavior Support Plans and Guidelines.
  • Serve as a Medication Technician and ensure accurate medication documentation.
  • Support meal planning and preparation according to dietary and health needs.
  • Advocate for individuals' goals, preferences, and needs as part of their support team.
  • Monitor program activities to ensure they align with person-centered plans.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, billing, medication, emergency preparedness, and documentation standards.
  • Assist with staffing coverage when needed.
  • Monitor grocery, supply, and household purchasing needs.
  • Perform routine DSP duties, including:
    • Transportation
    • Personal care support
    • Daily living skills training
    • Meal preparation
    • Health-related supports
  • Facilitate and document monthly council meetings with individuals receiving services.
  • Communicate professionally with families, guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Monitor medication inventories, refills, and expiration dates.
  • Coordinate healthcare appointments and ensure complete documentation in Therap.
  • Utilize assigned purchasing cards in accordance with organizational policies and budgets.
  • Participate in technology initiatives and committees as assigned.
  • Provide on-call support for technology alerts and after-hours emergencies.


Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver)
  • Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to pass required background and reference checks


Work Location:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to work in a community home/ apartment/ facility based environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as assistive and enabling technology devices to support the person.


Physical Requirements: This role involves regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and hands-on support. Reasonable accommodations are available.
