Truck Driver Assistant (Full-Time)

The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries is looking for a truck driver assistant to join Joe Vieira Trucking on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate(s) will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Wrap and pack furniture and fragile goods.
• Physically assist to load and unload trucks and containers.
• Unpack, assemble, and disassemble furniture and goods.
• Responsible to follow instructions, locate pick up/delivery location under guidance of truck driver.
• Responsible to assist truck driver to execute delivery duties as assigned by dispatch.
• Responsible to assist the truck driver operate vehicles in a safe manner to transport and deliver cargo, goods, and materials.
• Keep records of time, description of services and other paperwork required for every job.
• Demonstrate and maintain professional, courteous, and respectful working relationships with colleagues and customers always.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A heavy truck license would be an asset.
• Previous truck driving experience in a delivery/loading/unloading warehouse role would be advantageous.
• Physical requirements, the ideal candidate must be able to handle a variety of physical activities from sitting to standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and lifting from 10 to 120 pounds repeatedly. Work is primarily performed in an outdoor environment, and the ideal candidate will be exposed to changing weather conditions (temperature & humidity) while performing responsibilities.
