About Xzibit

Xzibit is an Australian company operating a Concept to Delivery Division for museums, galleries, and experience centres. And a Build to Delivery Division for Expos and Events

About the role

This is a commercial role inside our Museums & Experience Centre division.

We design and deliver everything from museums to regional history galleries, crafting displays, spaces, experiences, and stories. Our work is hands-on, collaborative, and built to last.

Your primary focus is winning new clients and projects: museums, galleries, councils, visitor attractions, and experience centres, alongside growing a defined portfolio of existing accounts. You'll manage tender and proposal responses end to end, working with our Creative, Design, AV, and Production teams to shape concepts that win work the we can deliver (really) well.

A good week might mean qualifying a new lead over coffee with a client, coordinating a tender submission, presenting a proposal alongside the Head of Museums & Experience Centres, and reviewing your pipeline against next quarter's forecast.

You'll lead from first contact through to a handover to the project team.

You'll report to the Head of Museums & Experience Centres.

What you'll be doing

  • Identify and pursue new institutional clients and projects across the museums and experience centre sector - Australia wide
  • Build and qualify a pipeline of opportunities, from first contact through brief, proposal, and close
  • Manage tender, EOI, and RFQ responses end to end — compliance, schedule, and coordination of design and costing input
  • Grow revenue from existing accounts through, gallery refreshes, touring exhibitions, content contracts and more
  • Own day-to-day client relationships across your portfolio, keeping clients well served between projects
  • Prepare accurate, competitive fee proposals and quotes that keep work profitable
  • Represent Xzibit at sector conferences and industry events

What you'll bring

Must have:

  • Proven business development or account management experience with institutional or government clients — cultural sector, built environment, or comparable long-cycle B2B work
  • Strong sales capability: you've built pipelines, run negotiations, and closed agreements circa $200K-$2M+
  • Demonstrated success managing tender and procurement processes from qualification through submission
  • Proven accountability for commercial outcomes — revenue targets and margin performance
  • Excellent relationship skills across long project cycles and multi-stakeholder client organisations
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and relevant business software

Very nice to have:

  • An existing network within the Australian museums, galleries, or experience centre sector
  • Familiarity with procurement processes common to cultural institutions and government
  • Experience working within a design studio or creative practice

What we offer

  • Work you can point to and be proud of!  the projects you win become spaces the public visits for decades
  • A defined client portfolio with real scope to grow it, and a personal target you genuinely own
  • A collaborative team where sales and creative work side by side, not at arm's length
  • A team that shares knowledge generously and pitches in wherever needed
  • Salary package including commission or bonus structure — to be confirmed

How to apply

Send your CV, answer the application questions, and provide a short 1 Page cover note telling us about a piece of work you won that you're proud of — how you found it, how you shaped the bid, and what happened next.
