Sales Arborist (Rite A Way)

We are looking for a motivated Sales Arborist to join our team and help customers make informed decisions about their trees and properties.

Position Overview

The Sales Arborist is responsible for meeting with customers, assessing tree care needs, developing professional recommendations, and preparing estimates for tree care services. This position combines arboricultural knowledge, customer service, and sales skills.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about trees, communicates well with customers, takes pride in providing honest recommendations, and is comfortable working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with residential and commercial customers to evaluate trees and property conditions.
• Identify tree health, safety, structural, and maintenance concerns.
• Recommend appropriate tree care services based on customer needs and industry standards.
• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for tree removal, trimming, pruning, stump grinding, storm cleanup, and other tree services.
• Explain recommended work clearly and professionally to customers.
• Follow up with customers on estimates and opportunities.
• Develop positive, long-term relationships with customers.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
• Coordinate with production crews to ensure sold work is clearly communicated and properly scheduled.
• Take measurements, photographs, and detailed notes when preparing estimates.
• Identify opportunities for additional services while maintaining an honest, customer-focused approach.
• Stay current on safe tree-care practices, arboricultural principles, and applicable industry standards.
• Assist in the scheduling of the sold jobs.
• Represent Rite-A-Way Tree Service professionally in the community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in arboriculture, tree care, landscaping, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of tree species, pruning practices, tree health, and common tree hazards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspect properties and safely navigate outdoor environments.
• Ability to accurately measure, document, and estimate tree-care work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer appointments.
• Professional appearance and dependable work ethic.
• Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet, estimating software, email, and other basic technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous tree-care sales or estimating experience.
• Experience with residential and commercial tree-care customers.
• Knowledge of ANSI A300 standards and applicable safety practices.
• Experience using tree-care estimating or CRM software.
