We are seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to join our team and help us continue to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable with the physical demands of delivering, loading, and unloading scaffolding materials.
This position typically begins at 6:00 AM, with earlier start times required depending on delivery schedules and business needs. The Delivery Driver will travel throughout the Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland region and will typically return home daily.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties may be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver scaffolding equipment and materials to construction sites, warehouses, and other locations.
- Travel throughout Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland based on scheduled deliveries and business needs.
- Load and unload scaffolding materials and equipment from company vehicles.
- Properly secure and strap loads to ensure materials are transported safely.
- Verify delivery orders and maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding delivery status, scheduling, and any issues.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal and state driving regulations.
- Assist with warehouse operations during delivery downtime, including loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, maintaining the work area, and other general warehouse responsibilities.
- Operate a forklift when qualified and needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card as required for the position.
- Ability and willingness to report to work at 6:00 AM or earlier based on delivery schedules.
- Ability to travel throughout the regional service area while typically returning home daily.
- Ability to safely load, unload, secure, and strap materials.
- Ability to read maps, follow GPS directions, and navigate routes efficiently.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately document deliveries.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, professionalism, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous delivery driver, warehouse, or construction industry experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Previous experience securing and strapping loads preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Physical requirements include but are not limited to the following:
- Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, squat, and climb.
- Able to travel to jobsites, warehouses, meetings, and other destinations.
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Able to work with specialized construction equipment, tools, and materials.
- Able to see, talk, and hear in person, via phone, and/or through online/video communication.
- Able to use hands and fingers in a manner that allows for the use of equipment, tools, a keyboard, and phone.
- Able to regularly perform the physical activities associated with loading and unloading scaffolding materials.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
