You will help make configuration changes reliable, repeatable and traceable across development, test and production environments, supporting both cloud-hosted and on-premises deployments.

This is a hands-on, C#/.NET-focused Senior Automation Engineer role responsible for defining and implementing the test automation strategy for the XMGR platform. You will design and evolve a scalable C# test automation framework for an established enterprise platform, covering UI (Playwright), API and integration suites built on Specflow and NUnit/xUnit, and wire it into ADO CI/CD pipelines for fast, trustworthy release feedback. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to improve test coverage, and ensure the platform delivers high quality, reliability, and scalability.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation test frameworks using C#.

  • Develop automated UI, API, and integration test suites.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve security, authorization, auditability, performance and observability; diagnose issues across application and integration boundaries.
  • Refactor existing code incrementally while preserving compatibility and behaviour.
  • Improve test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership through design discussions, mentoring and knowledge sharing; collaborate across engineering, configuration and platform teams to deliver the team’s definition of done.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools/framework such as Reqnroll/Specflow, Playwright, or Cypress along with testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing production software in C#/.NET, typically five or more years, with evidence of owning complex features and making sound technical decisions.
  • Experience building ASP.NET Core services and REST APIs, including API contracts, asynchronous programming, dependency injection and robust error handling.
  • Practical application of object-oriented design, SOLID principles and appropriate design patterns; ability to navigate, debug and safely improve an established codebase.
  • Strong automated unit and integration testing skills; experience with peer reviews, Git and CI/CD, and a commitment to maintainability, security and release quality.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with configuration-management or deployment-automation systems: versioned artifacts, dependency resolution, environment promotion, baseline comparison or audit trails.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
  • Framework design expertise, including Page Object Model (POM) or Hybrid frameworks.
  • Asynchronous messaging (for example NATS), OData APIs, Oracle or SQL Server, and app telemetry such as OpenTelemetry.
  • Azure, enterprise authentication/authorization, Docker or Kubernetes, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience modernizing .NET applications while preserving integration compatibility.
  • Experience in enterprise or financial software; familiarity with SimCorp Dimension is welcome but not required.

Prior experience with XMGR or the Standard Configuration Framework is not required; you should be willing to learn about the product and configuration domain.

PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Take ownership, apply sound judgement, and balance delivery with long-term quality.
  • Work constructively across cultures and disciplines; share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to an inclusive team environment.
