Customer Success Associate
About Allocator
Allocator is a software and data-as-a-service company providing integrated data management solutions to the alternative investments industry. We champion the pursuit of clarity, opportunity and efficiency for capital allocators around the world, and are fast becoming the innovation partner of choice for the world's leading investment offices. We help private market investors transform their investment operations and research processes through a world-class data and analytics platform that powers their investment decisions.
At Allocator, our people and culture sit at the heart of our success - driven by excellence, inclusion and a sense of fun. We work collaboratively, diligently, and with the kind of agility a fast-growing company demands. We're always looking for sharp, ambitious people to help us build the next generation of data and software for the alternative investment industry.
About the Role
Customer Success at Allocator is how we keep our institutional clients getting more value from the platform every quarter - and fund data sits at the heart of that promise. As a Customer Success Associate, your primary remit is manager relations: you're the first point of contact for the hedge funds and general partners who submit data to Allocator, and the analytical engine that ensures the data is complete, timely and accurate enough for our institutional clients to make decisions on.
It's a hybrid role that mixes relationship management with data analysis. Some days you're on a call unblocking a stalled report from a GP. Other days you're buried in an exception report tracing where a pattern is coming from, or sitting with Product working out how to automate something you'd rather not be doing by hand. It's not a technical role in the traditional sense, but you do need to be comfortable with data - moving through spreadsheets easily, reading structured reports without much hand-holding, and digging in deep enough to spot a problem before a client does.
You'll own a portfolio of managers end-to-end, working closely with sales, product, technology and the rest of Customer Success. As automation takes on more of the manual work, the role will grow into more client support, onboarding and direct relationship management. We're looking for someone who's curious about data and takes initiative without being asked. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
What You'll Own
- A portfolio of manager relationships end-to-end - from first introduction through ongoing reporting — building long-term partnerships and securing timely, complete data.
- Data quality and coverage against clear KPIs (timeliness, completeness, accuracy), using exception reports to find and fix root causes.
- Onboarding of new managers and funds from first call through their first reporting cycle, working with internal data analysts to hit SLAs.
- Escalations when reporting breaks down - diagnosing the cause, owning the conversation with the manager, and driving it to resolution.
- Recurring analysis of coverage gaps across the fund universe, with written recommendations to Product on automation opportunities.
- Partnership with the wider Customer Success team on onboarding stats, sales-trial coverage checks and client deadlines, plus documentation that helps the function scale - and over time, an expanding remit into client support and relationship management as automation takes on more of the manual work.
Who You Are
- You spot problems and fix them proactively - manual work is an opportunity to improve, not a status quo to accept.
- You think analytically; chasing down why a fund's data is late or incomplete is interesting to you, not tedious. • You hold external counterparts - GPs, fund managers, ops teams - accountable to commitments, with professionalism and credibility.
- You juggle a high volume of priorities without dropping detail, and follow through with discipline.
- You're a clear communicator, equally comfortable in client conversations, analytical work and cross-functional discussions - and you bring a builder's mindset to a growing, evolving business.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree desirable.
- Solid understanding of the alternative investments industry and a real interest in investment data.
- Experience in investor relations, project management, fund operations or data-adjacent roles is a strong plus.
- CFA, CAIA, or a Master's in Finance (or equivalent) is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills - you'll be juggling a high volume of relationships, calls and deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration skills across diverse, cross-functional teams.
Why Allocator
You'll have direct, visible impact on a function that drives the company's growth. You'll work closely with product and senior leadership, and you'll have room to take on the kind of pro-active projects that grow into bigger roles - whether that's leading manager coverage, deepening client relationships across the Customer Success function, or shaping the
next generation of Allocator's data and customer experience.
