About the Role 

A Fire Equipment Technician is responsible for visiting customer sites and checking the fire equipment. The equipment you will be handling is fire extinguishers, hose reels, fire blankets. These checks are generally set at yearly intervals, so you won’t be seeing the same sites every month. Each month you will have a set run of sites to visit, test, and replace if required. You will be responsible for prioritizing your testing run to ensure it is completed each month. 

Ideally you will bring three years’ experience to this role and demonstrate your knowledge of NZ Standards. Holding NZQA for Hand Operated Fire Extinguishers is preferred, however this qualification is available for you to complete.

Being based in our Auckland office you will get to work on some unique and very interesting sites.  

This role is for someone who likes routine and building relationships with customers. This role would ideally suit those who like to know what they are doing day in and day out. 

It is not just about your technical skills; it is how you deliver them. 

  Duties Include:

• You will be lifting weights up to 10 kg
• Visiting customer sites to test portable and fixed fire equipment
• Looking for sales opportunities
• You may be asked to help the team out with the monthly Compliance testing

 You will hold:  

• A clean, full NZ driver license 
• Great customer service skills 
• Great communication skills  
• Clean Criminal history record 
• Fit and able to walk, climb ladders and use your phone for recording test results. 
• Hold the right to work in NZ
