Position Overview

Americrane Rentals is looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who want to build a career in the crane, rigging, and specialized lifting industry.


The Oiler is an entry-level field position that works alongside our crane operators, truck drivers, and rigging crews on local jobsites. This role is ideal for someone with construction or other outdoor labor experience who isn't yet a fully qualified rigger but wants the opportunity to learn the industry from the ground up.

This is a hands-on job. Oilers are expected to show up ready to work, follow direction, help wherever needed, and contribute to keeping the crew safe and productive.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist crane operators with crane setup, assembly, and breakdown.
  • Assist with installing and removing crane counterweights and other crane components.
  • Signal crane operators during lifting and crane operations as directed and when qualified to do so.
  • Assist truck drivers with loading, unloading, and positioning equipment, counterweights, rigging, and materials.
  • Help prepare and organize the jobsite for crane and lifting operations.
  • Handle rigging equipment, mats, cribbing, tools, and other jobsite materials.
  • Maintain clean and organized cranes, trucks, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow instructions from crane operators, drivers, riggers, supervisors, and other crew leadership.
  • Assist the crew with general labor and jobsite duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Americrane and customer safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE at all times while on the jobsite.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational and jobsite needs.


PPE & Work Attire

Safety is a condition of employment at Americrane. Oilers are expected to arrive at work properly dressed and prepared for the jobsite each day.

Americrane provides:

  • Level 2 safety helmet
  • High-visibility reflective safety vest
  • Company-branded work shirts

Team Partners are responsible for providing:

  • Work-appropriate jeans or work pants (FR clothing is not required unless specifically required by the jobsite or customer)
  • Steel-toe work boots

Required PPE must be worn and properly used at all times in accordance with company, customer, and jobsite requirements. Additional PPE may be required depending on the specific work being performed.


What We're Looking For

  • Previous construction, industrial, oilfield, heavy equipment, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • Comfortable performing physical work outdoors in Texas heat and changing weather conditions.
  • Able and willing to work long or irregular hours based on job requirements.
  • Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
  • Comfortable working around cranes, heavy equipment, trucks, and active construction sites.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, climb, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Willing to take direction, learn from experienced crew members, and complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and a team-first attitude.
  • Must understand that jobsite needs can change quickly and be willing to help wherever the crew needs assistance.
  • Must follow safety procedures and communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and other trades.
