Dance Teacher (After-School Program)


Position Title: Dance Teacher
Location: Various School Sites
Schedule: Monday through Thursday
Hours: 2.5 hours per day (must be available between 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM)
Compensation: $75 - $120 per day, based on experience and qualifications


Position Summary

We are seeking energetic, reliable, and passionate Dance Teachers to lead engaging after-school enrichment programs for students. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, confidence, physical activity, and a love for dance while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and have experience teaching various dance styles in a classroom, studio, or recreational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead age-appropriate dance lessons and activities.
  • Teach basic dance techniques, choreography, rhythm, and movement skills.
  • Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Maintain classroom management and ensure student safety at all times.
  • Encourage student participation, teamwork, creativity, and self-expression.
  • Prepare students for informal performances, showcases, or presentations when applicable.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and program administrators.
  • Arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance throughout the program.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching dance to children or youth preferred.
  • Knowledge of one or more dance styles such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Cultural Dance, Cheer Dance, or related disciplines.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying skill levels.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass all required background screening and fingerprinting requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate dance movements and remain active throughout program hours.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
