Hire the people who make the care possible!

Every successful hire places a trained, values-aligned person alongside a child, youth, or adult who needs support. At CarePros, your work helps make safe, consistent care possible.

We are looking for an experienced recruiter who understands the demands of high-volume hiring and can keep candidates, hiring managers and employee transitions moving with accuracy, urgency and care.

The Role

CarePros is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist (Recruiter) to own full-cycle recruitment across the agency, including high-volume frontline hiring and management, as well as head office positions. Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, you will manage recruitment across multiple locations and coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities.

Proven high-volume recruitment experience is essential. This role requires the ability to conduct 8–12 virtual interviews per day while managing candidate pipelines, follow-ups, pre-employment checks, offers and onboarding requirements.

You will manage multiple active vacancies and dozens of candidates at different stages. You must be comfortable prioritizing independently, responding to changing staffing needs and following through without frequent reminders.

Success means moving qualified candidates efficiently from application to their first day while maintaining thoughtful assessments, accurate records and a positive candidate experience.

What You’ll Do

Own recruitment and keep the pipeline moving

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for frontline care, management and head office positions across our Alberta locations.
  • Conduct 8–12 virtual interviews per day, while keeping assessments, documentation and candidate follow-ups current.
  • Partner with hiring managers to confirm staffing priorities, role requirements, competencies and scheduling needs.
  • Write and publish effective job postings and actively source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, community partners and your network.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines by role and location, ensuring every active candidate has a clear status and next step.
  • Assess candidates for relevant skills, experience, availability, role readiness and alignment with CarePros’ values and the needs of the people we serve.
  • Follow up promptly on missed interviews, outstanding documentation, pending decisions and offers to reduce delays and candidate drop-off.
  • Maintain accurate ATS records, including interview notes, assessment outcomes and candidate communications.
  • Keep hiring managers informed and candidates engaged throughout the process.

Manage offers, onboarding and offboarding

  • Complete reference checks and verify required documentation, education and work experience before issuing offers.
  • Prepare employment offers in accordance with our wage grid and approved terms.
  • Issue offers through our HRIS, track signed acceptance and coordinate confirmed start dates.
  • Coordinate onboarding documentation, employee records, orientation and required training arrangements with the appropriate teams.
  • Monitor outstanding onboarding requirements and resolve gaps before they delay a new hire’s start.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding with People and Culture, Payroll, IT and managers, including required documentation, employee record updates, return of company property and system access changes.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and confidential candidate and employee records.
  • Keep recruitment practices consistent with the Alberta Employment Standards Code, the Alberta Human Rights Act and CarePros’ policies.

Plan ahead and improve results

  • Anticipate hiring needs and develop recruitment plans with hiring managers before vacancies become critical.
  • Build ongoing talent pipelines through post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and employment support agencies.
  • Coordinate hiring events, career fairs, practicum and co-op opportunities.
  • Manage recruitment advertising spend and evaluate which channels produce qualified candidates and successful hires.
  • Track interview activity, time-to-fill, offer acceptance, candidate drop-off, source effectiveness and upcoming start dates.
  • Identify pipeline bottlenecks and adjust sourcing, scheduling or follow-up strategies to improve results.
  • Report regularly to the VP of People and Culture on open requisitions, candidate progress, staffing risks and recommended actions.

What You’ll Bring

We need someone with demonstrated experience managing a busy recruitment portfolio from start to finish. Essential qualifications include:

  • Three or more years of full-cycle recruitment experience in a high-volume hiring environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a daily schedule of 8–12 interviews minimum alongside candidate screening, follow-ups, offers and onboarding activities.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent requisitions and maintaining active candidate pipelines across competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, employee records and communication between teams.
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills, with the judgment to make sound hiring recommendations.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail and follow-through when managing numerous candidates and deadlines.
  • Confidence using an ATS and HRIS to manage workflows, maintain accurate records and report on progress.
  • The ability to work independently, adapt when priorities shift and identify issues before they disrupt hiring or employee transitions.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to advise hiring managers and maintain consistent hiring standards.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code and the Alberta Human Rights Act.
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check from local police services, obtained within the last six months.

Additional Assets

  • Recruitment experience in children’s services, disability services, human services or healthcare.
  • Experience recruiting for frontline positions in a 24/7 service environment.
  • A CPHR or RPR (Registered Professional Recruiter) designation, or progress toward either.
  • Experience developing or improving recruitment processes, sourcing strategies and talent pipelines.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Health, dental and vision benefits, plus an Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Group RRSP matching after one year of full-time employment.
