RiverBank is growing in 2026! We are seeking a talented Commercial Credit Analyst to join our high-performing team. We are located in Spokane, WA, and prefer to hire a candidate who lives in the area. 


Summary 

The Commercial Credit Analyst is a key member of the Credit Administration team, responsible for analyzing commercial borrowing relationships, assessing financial performance, identifying risk factors, and supporting sound credit decisions. This role offers a strong foundation and growth pathway toward senior credit analysis and commercial underwriting responsibilities over time. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Commercial Credit Analysis & Risk Assessment 

  • Analyze commercial loan requests, renewals, modifications, and annual relationship reviews across a range of business credit relationships. 
  • Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial strength through detailed review of business and personal financial statements, tax returns, projections, borrowing base reports, and supporting documentation. 
  • Perform cash flow analysis, debt service coverage calculations, leverage and liquidity analysis, and trend analysis. 
  • Assess collateral adequacy, repayment sources, guarantor support, and overall credit structure. 
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, risks, and appropriate mitigating factors associated with commercial credit relationships. 
  • Spread business and personal financial statements and tax returns in accordance with bank guidelines. 

Credit Presentation & Documentation 

  • Prepare clear, concise, accurate, and well-supported credit memorandums, analytical reports, and risk assessments for management review. 
  • Develop credit recommendations and identify policy exceptions, documentation deficiencies, and compliance considerations. 
  • Gather and organize supporting loan documentation and financial information to complete credit files that meet Bank policy and regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist with annual reviews, credit renewals, risk ratings, loan modifications, and portfolio maintenance activities. 

Portfolio Monitoring & Relationship Support 

  • Monitor borrower financial performance, covenant compliance, approval conditions, and overall credit quality. 
  • Calculate and verify covenant compliance and communicate exceptions or violations to lending officers for resolution. 
  • Collaborate with Commercial Bankers and Relationship Managers to understand customer needs, business operations, and credit structuring opportunities. 
  • Provide analytical support throughout the commercial lending process and participate in customer or prospect discussions as appropriate. 

Policy, Compliance & Quality Assurance 

  • Ensure all analysis and recommendations comply with RiverBank Loan Policy, regulatory requirements, credit standards, and safe-and-sound banking practices. 
  • Maintain thorough and complete documentation supporting analytical conclusions. 
  • Support loan review, audits, examinations, internal reviews, and special credit projects as needed. 
  • Complete required training and remain current on regulatory, economic, and industry developments.
     


Minimum Requirements: 

Education, Training and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 
  • Two to five years of experience in commercial banking, financial analysis, accounting, credit analysis, treasury, lending support, or a related financial services role. 
  • Experience analyzing financial statements and tax returns required. 
  • Commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience, C&I and commercial real estate lending exposure, formal credit training, and community banking experience preferred. 

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong financial statement analysis and interpretation skills, including cash flow, global cash flow, and debt service coverage calculations. 
  • Understanding of commercial lending fundamentals, including working capital needs, capital expenditure financing, collateral protection, covenant monitoring, and repayment capacity. 
  • Ability to interpret tax returns, borrowing base reports, appraisals, business valuations, legal entity structures, and loan documentation. 
  • Familiarity with financial spreading platforms (e.g., Buker’s Tax Analysis or a comparable system) preferred.

  •  Starting pay range: $80,965 - $103,905
  • This position is eligible for annual bonus with the first year being pro-rated based on time in position.
