Scheduling Liaison - Patient Access Lincoln - 1.0 FTE - Shift 1

Overview

Provides coordination and decision making in the Scheduling department. Monitors patient scheduling for quality and looks for ways to improve relationships with patients and referring offices. Point of contact for all issues involving scheduling. Looks for ways to improve service to our patients and provider offices. Resolves any conflict with professionalism that involves Scheduling.

Responsibilities

·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

·         Proficient in use of personal computer, to include word processing, database and spreadsheet applications

·         Customer service skills

·         Knowledge of medical terminology desirable

·         Able to use multi-line telephone, copy machine, fax machine and other office related computer programs

·         Visits provider offices on regular cadence to follow up on issues or get information on any new barriers to scheduling.

·         Prepares weekly report of office visits with comments/resolution to send to President, CFO and Patient Access Director.

·         Monitors, accesses, and modifies strategies to improve services, systems, and processes

·         Assists in implementing new processes and program policies when changes are needed.

·         Maintaining patient confidentiality by securing patient information (HIPAA) as well as making sure staff are compliant with HIPAA policy.

·         Handles phone calls and communicates with patients, staff, and offices in a positive and pleasant manner.

·         Knowledge of incoming fax folder, and other scheduling folders.

·         Coordinates with Radiology Director and Patient Access Director to educate and adjust scheduling procedures with scheduling staff.

·         Uses down time wisely.

·         Relays any supply needs to Patient Access Director.

·         Oversees that all job functions with schedulers are being completed in a timely manner and looks for ways to improve the processes.

·         Handles issues between schedulers and provider offices to ensure a good rapport and working relationship.

·         Provides orders and packets for provider offices.

·         Assists Patient Access Director with any tasks within the scope of the Scheduling Department.

    

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
